One day, Caliph al-Mahdi was sitting in his palace at the hour when people had access to him, and suddenly a man entered, and in his hands was a sandal wrapped in a handkerchief. This is the sandal of the Messenger of Allah - may Allah bless and greet him. And he presented it to the Caliph.
