The Winners And Losers Of 2024 NBA Free Agency

    OKC has 8 legit guys who can play well in the playoffs, and with how Presti drafts. I wouldn't even be surprised if one of their draft picks besides Topic is able to crack into their rotation. Meanwhile, they have like 4 first round picks in a deep 2025 draft, including Clipper's pick which could be a potential top 10.

    So we’re just going to skip over the fact that not only did Philly bring in PG… but also brought back Oubre on a solid deal, brought back Embiid’s best ever back up in Andre Drummond, brought in a solid veteran shooter in Eric Gordon. And they’re not even done yet and don’t have to deal with Tobias anymore

  • @markduffin4323

    @markduffin4323

    5 күн бұрын

    When all everyone can say about PG going to the Sixers is "If Embiid and PG can stay healthy...", then you can see that there's not a lot of confidence in this deal. As for Andre Drummond, come on. He's a great rebounder, but he's always going to get cooked by playoff teams, so it's purely a regular season move for a team that needs playoff performers. Kind of the same for Eric Gordon, however he's more impactful than Drummond. Overall, it's really hard to say the Sixers won free agency when there's very little confidence in it working. This free agency will be a winner in hindsight if it's a winner at all

    Deck chairs on the Titanic. They're basically the same team they were last year and that team, if you recall, was...okay. Even when Giannis was healthy. Now he and Dame will be a year older and Doc will still be head coach. Meanwhile, the Pacers, Magic, Sixers and Knicks all got better (The Celtics? They just stayed the best). Pencil in the Bucks for a second-round exit. If they avoid the play-in, that is.

    People need to stop simplying floor spacing as "shoot threes." Hartenstein fits OKC because he's got a big presence under the rim on offence. From rebounding to his weird but somewhat effective floaters. Like this guy can open the space for shooters because teams are gonna be aware that if they don't respect this dude under the rim, he's just gonna collect boards after boards and prolly score on top of your center

    May be idealistic, but as a casual fan, I could see Watson in Denver making a big jump if they play him in an expanded role and make him a primary starter after the the KCP loss. Braun is pretty solid, but the flashes I've seen make me think Watson could absolutely hit 15ppg 5reb and 2+ bl/st if he gets 30+ mpg. That said, we could just as easily drop to the 3-5 seed and be missing all the intangibles. Wishing both sides the best, either way, as it seemed to just be a case of a decent offer being outbidded by another team without and drama or toxicity

    @ahmadhasan9446 I think you're right, especially considering he's 3rd, maybe 4th option on offense, anyway in this scenario. Would be great to see the efficiency go up since that's where the leagues at, cause his motor and potential are real good at age 21 with the talent he's got around him.

    @@thatguy1706 I’m a huge nuggets fan and watched all 82 regular season games last year and all playoff games too. Trust me, Watson is still super raw. Occasionally he’ll score like 15 in a game, sure. Happens once in a blue moon. But to AVERAGE 15 a game means that for every game where you only score 10, you have another game where you score 20. For every game you only score 5, you have another game where you score 25. There’s no scenario where Watson even comes close to having multiple 20-25 point games throughout this upcoming season. He’s years away from being able to do that. For perspective, some players that averaged 15 PPG last year include Malik Monk, OG Anunoby, Bojan Bogdanovic, Derrick White, and John Collins. All of those guys are WAY better scorers than Watson.

The Celtics only have 1 or 2 more years before they blow it all up thanks to the 2nd apron. They just guaranteed nearly 1B dollar in payroll over the next few years. They might as well have guaranteed that they would also offload some of that payroll lol. I'm definitely expecting OKC to be top 5 over the next 4-5 years and they'll win at least one championship with their young core advantage. A Knicks - Thunders finals would really be fun next season and I expect 2 different teams in the finals nearly every year now.
