The windsurfing fast tack (non-planing)! A complete guide.

In this video you will learn how to do the tack in windsurfing.
We will be focusing on the non-planing fast tack, although the differences between this and the planing fast tack are minimal.
The tack can be considered the most important turn in windsurfing and a move everyone should be able to do! This is because it is a turn that can be made by beginners and pros alike and when learnt well it can be done in an instance while keeping you upwind.
I hope you will enjoy the video and find it helpful in some way.

What sets this instruction apart is how well you use body language to illustrate the voice over. Super clear👌

Very clear and thanks for wind direction. Might be worth adding a few coments on what can go wrong, likely causes and remedies. I tried to learn a while back but slipped and hurt my knee but you've enthused me to try again.

Would love to add ALL the information that exists but I don't want to make the videos drag on too long! As for slipping off I obviously cant tell what your mistake was without seeing you but I would recommend to focus on keeping your body over the centre of the board as you switch sides and also the foot work (specifically sliding the feet), as something wrong with these things can cause you to slip off! Good luck and keep trying! Don't give up... Thanks for you kind words and stay posted for more videos!

Doesn't look like you cross your arms to get to the other side of the boom. You cross them on the same side. See the the tacks starting at 08:00.

Hey! Goo observation... True I dont always cross my hands although that is the recommended way of doing it. I would say it is best to learn it with crossing your hands and practice it like that but once you are getting your tacks around and making them smooth, you can let your body do what it wants. If it works why not... (I didnt even notice that I do it that much) :D

Excellent video that you very much. My transition is poor and I normally end up falling off the front but I think the tips about keeping the arm straight and leaning the body towards the back of the board are really going to help. Also, I thought that place looked familiar, It's Surf4U in Mui Ne that's a fun spot to sail from.
