It looks like Flaming Espinas guts managed to help him push through against Velkhana’s prowess and the large hp gap. This was a very fun battle, and I hope we get to see more of the hazards in action

Man flaming espinas is such a powerhouse only certain monsters with greater aoe were the only few to take him down. Respect to velkhana as well, she held her own very well in this with her own aoe. Hopefully these two are able to make it into wilds, I know their ecology will be fun to observe.

I really thought velkhana would win because of the difference in hp. This is a strong dragon, due to aggression, ranged attacks, multiple attacks and the frost effect, which often works and increases the speed gap between rivals. But I'm glad that espinas won.

I hope to see this fight in the WILDS as well! Despite the HP gap, Flaming Espinas pulled ahead! I wonder if the same result would happen with their normal versions. Either way, a real spectacle of a fight that was down to the wire!

This was honestly depressing to watch lol. Just a straight video of Velkhana getting whopped. Flaming Espinas is just so much more aggressive and fast. And every time Velkhana would get a lead all of that progress would be erased and then some once Flaming backed em into the corner and double taped them. Truly malicious work.

Some of my worst fights were with Hazard Flaming Espinas, so I could see why it would win in the end.

Credit to Espinas, the hammer was pitch perfect against nigh every update monster after it. Risen Chaneleos, Chaotic, Velkhana, Shagaru, Valstrax, Amatsu, Primordial, all of them hate fire/poison combo.

Even with the extra health, Flaming Espinas proved too powerful in the end! An interesting and close fight as always 😃

This is a shining example of how Flaming Espinas is an Elder dragon level monster.

I mean, normal espinas would struggle even though it is canon more powerful than the traditional elder tiers(rajang, deviljho, and bazelguese), but it’s ice weakness kind of screws it over, but flaming not only is just an espinas on steroids, but also has less ice weakness(but still some), and thus it is able ot shine in matchups like this.

Espinas is a hard counter to Kushala because 1: he's poisonous 2: he's very heavy which allows him to charge through Kushala's wind barriers because of Newton's first law (inertia) 3: Kushala can't use ice in Espinas' natural habitat because there is no snow

推しモンスター同士の対決で胸が熱くなった・・・！！ エスピナス亜種はどうしても溜めが必要になる攻撃が多いから、発生の速さでイヴェルカーナに隙をつかれることが多い。 でも得意の連続攻撃や状態異常、メガフレアによる火力で3万もあった体力さを覆した。 世界観的にはクシャルを確定待機にできるエスピナス亜種の方が一方上だと思うものの、氷属性の技を多用するカーナとの相性を考えると接戦になるのは分かる気がした。

Hey! In case you didn’t catch it (it was a few week old vid lmao), there’s a Crimson Fatalis and White Fatalis mod for MHW:IB, and I was curious to see how they’d fair in monster battles. It’s just a suggestion though.

What a nail biter I was rooting for Flaming too. Hurray!!

Even though valkhana has the extra health Flaming espinas's damage per hit is monstrous

エスピナス亜種は、毒と属性効果で相手の体力を少しずつ削り取る効果があるのと、溜攻撃は一発一発強力である反面、動きがやや遅めなのがネック。 一方のカーナはエスピナス亜種とは対極的なだけであって、広範囲と攻撃の速さと手数、そして純粋なる殺傷力(怯みやすさ)が持っておりエスピナス 亜種を翻弄することが出来る反面、威力としては乏しいだけか。 まあ、お互いの強さは互角であれ、どっちに勝ってもおかしくないと思える。 アイスボーンのカーナだったら、カーナの方が勝ってたかもしれない。

あじゃあアイスボーンにエスピナス亜種がいたら勝ってるということかしかも最初の体力エスピナス亜種の体力は普通やのにイヴェルは体力が多いそれなのに勝つしシャガルでも引き分けやシャガルが勝ってたからもうエスピナス亜種の勝ちなんよ
