The Wilderness Years | The History Of Doctor Who Viewing Figures
Ойын-сауық
The Wilderness Years... DOCTOR WHO was off the air... but it wasn't dead! Even if new adventures weren't airing on TV, the legacy of the programme would shine brightly!
This is the story of Doctor Who's journey through the wonderful world of ratings and viewing figures. We begin this instalment with the start of the Wilderness Years, a time where repeats of old stories were the only way to see Doctor Who on the telly, unless you picked up the ever-growing VHS range! As time goes on, we see a hopeful revival with Paul McGann as The Eighth Doctor in the TV Movie, only for the dark days to return with a vengeance. This is the story and tribute, to the many legions of fans old and new, who kept the hearts of the franchise beating, for almost 15 years...

A lot of people think Doctor Who was dead during this time period, but with some great novels and big finish there was loads of new or old unreleased stories to get your Doctor Who fix

I would say we were crispy mastered , but we were a bit worse often than that We would have probably been more like Him in some of the healing coma as he seems to take in big finish From what i've seen in the expanded media , he has a habit of just taking naps for decades of the time at one point even in being entombed
The Wilderness Years at least kept our Doctor Who heart going before the revival series in 2005.
How good is Jonathan Pryce as the Master? He just kills it.
Huzzah! The Wilderness Years are in a single video!
Reeltime and BBV could do with their own vids - a lot of gems not overly well known 🌟
Next do the modern series next viewing figures
2:21:42 I really don't like that. Russell T Davies used to be a pheromonal Doctor Who Writer, but behind the scenes, he seems like a dick. With stuff that has come out recently and stuff that has come out throughout the years since 2005, it just seems like he's not a nice person to work with.

Decent but not “phenomenal”.
Does this mean you will be doing 2005-2022 soon
It's about how the famous time lord known as the doctor returned
Incredible news about the doctor
The time lord is back
I'll make the new series
a fan since 63: since starbeast emasculated the doctor, who is interested in this disney doctor?

Oh what like when troughton was prancing around in a dress in the highlanders? What are you on about ‘emasculated’. One line of a tv program in the star beast doesn’t change anything. Also, the new doctor is just another take on the role like all of them are. You could argue matt smith wasn’t very ‘manly’ either.

@@neilkendrick4976 naw, i just think your representation of the star beast is overblown and out of proportion. I’ve been watching doctor who since 2008 myself and have watched a good chunk of classic. Just because you’ve been a fan since 63 doesn’t make your opinions worth more. Did you get to see troughtons missing episodes on broadcast?
The seventh doctor is no more
