The Wild Hunt in Scandinavian Folklore and Legends
A great band of phantasmal hunters travel across the land through the air and the sky, often told in Scandinavian folklore as either preying upon the souls of the living, or hunting for mythical and magical creatures.

My Father told me this story as a kiddo (not as well as you do.) Odin led the hunt, on Slepnir, the 8 legged horse. He would place his work boots outside our back door ( the friendly door) and give us hay to stuff into the boot. In the morning, a gift would be in place of the hay. When I did this at 10, I got a knife. I still have it to this day.

its a variant of the Julnir/Julfather/Odin would give to ppl. Jul = scandinavian christmas.
Hawaii has a similar story called the Nightmarchers. They are slain Hawaiian warriors who rise up from their graves on certain nights to steal souls of anyone who encounters them.

There have been sightings of the Nightmarchers throughout the islands. They are commonly seen near battlefields such as Nuuanu Pali on Oahu.

they walk the great alii trail and can be followed if one knows the way. though they are kings and chiefs of old and will not abide disrespect of anyone.

Your voice is very suited for narration! I really like it. I was working on a project involving the Wild Hunt so I came here, and now I wish you could narrate it. XD

I believe that my village og Golcar was named after an incident, where St Guthlac was caught up in the Wild Hunt when it came through Huddersfield, Guthlac was caught up as it swipt through near the ground causing a scar, this scar in the ground became known as Guthlacs Scar then Guthlascar and eventually turned into Golcar.
Your voice is very soothing and lovely, you should consider doing some ASMR videos or spotify lists you'd be great!
@Anna Bridgland - Folklore, Mythology & Fairy Tales >>> 👍👍
They'd eaten the Christmas food, a dead man was hanging from a meat hook. But worst of all, they'd drank all of the Christmas ale!
