I think something forget about the 2015 rumble is how Kane and Big Show literally just dumped any fan favorite over the top rope. Like knocked them out and just picked them up to dump them over. When I was watching the 97 rumble a few weeks back for the first time honestly I was like huh that’s kinda cool. Be interesting to see them do something like that today. Guess it got left on the cutting room floor for my video, but that’s for the information appreciate it!
The winner of the 1988 Royal Rumble became the 1st bracket in the Wrestlemania 4 tournament. The winner of the 1990 Royal Rumble went onto Challenge the Intercontinental Champion at Wrestlemania 6. The winner of the 1991 Royal Rumble coincidently went onto Challenge for the WWF Championship at Wrestlemania 7

@jesseandrews6029
6 ай бұрын
The winner of the 1989 Royal Rumble, as you correctly named, Big John Studd went onto referee the Wrestlemania 5 match between Andre The Giant & Jake The Snake Roberts. The special referee paid homage to the historical feud going back to the 1st Wrestlemania between Andre & Studd, with Studd awarding Jake the win via DQ. Of course, the stats I previously mentioned are all coincidence as we all know, the Wrestlemania stip for the winner didn't become official until the 93 edition. The 1992 winner being awarded the vacant WWF Championship 1 year earlier. I Just discovered this channel as this video was recommended on my channel and I immediately watched it because I'm a big fan of documentary style wrestling bios and your Royal Rumble theme was perfect upload timing. I'll nitpick your showing a photo of the 2004 winner, but not mentioning his name. I was a HYOOGE Shawn Michaels fan in the 90s, so when he went the distance and won, 16-year-old me was ecstatic. In the replay, Roddy Piper pointed out that during many instances, Shawn would duck out and take a breather, which was a valid criticism, but I ignored it at the time. On the flip side, in 2004, Benoit stepped into the ring and went. He didn't stop until the bell rang to end the match. I recently went back and re-watched that Rumble match, and I forgot just how good Chris Benoit was. It makes me that much angrier at him for how his story would end a few years later.

I totally get where you’re coming from for 04. I hate to censor myself but my Randy Orton video (which I spent a heck of a lot of time on) got crushed by the algorithm for mentioning benoit by name, and so with the size of my channel I couldn’t risk it. I totally agree though he had a heck of a Rumble in 04. I was like 8 when he died and I remember my folks being hesitant to allow me to continue watching wrestling. You are correct about the original time being 2 mins before now being 90 seconds, even though they don’t stick to that claim very well. However, the 1995 Rumble did reduce the time to 60 seconds and it lead to it being the shortest rumble ever. Thanks for your comment.

Personally I do not like the RR of 99. The Austin vs Vince feud overshadowed the match and the ending was pointless. Frankly the feud would only become worse and overexposed as 99 progressed. Anyway my favourite RR is the 2001 edition. Kane (who was my favourite wrestler from the attitude era ) put on a great performance and I really wanted him to win but sadly the overrated Stone Cold had to win. As for this year's RR, I hope WALTER (Gunther) wins the RR this year. It be a great way to redeem himself after last year and set him up as the second IC champion to challenge the world champion at WM.
