I like their bleir bluegrass infused country/folk sound. I just happened to stumble upon these shows and now I appreciate how great they really were, the Wilburn Brothers.

Love the Wilburns and the music from that era. Webb reminds me of my good friend and Country singer Mac Sullivan. An old Oklahoma native who own a honky tonk called the Palomino Club. It appeared ol Webb's denture cream wasn't holding too well that day. He subtely pushed the uppers with his lowers to keep them in place Must be hard to sing with them rattling around in your mouth.

He seemed to have that problem in many of the videos that are out there today...sometimes its really bad.... With the zillions he was worth you would think that issue could easily be rectified huh..... :P

Webb Pierce was THE top-selling C&W singing star during the 1950s until some fellow named Elvis hit the big-time in 1956. 🎻🎸

A great episode I haven't seen before. Thanks Jason! Are you a relative of Teddy and Doyle? Man Hal Rugg could play! Love Webb- one of the greats.

What really stinks is there were HUNDREDS of Wilburn Brothers Shows taped from 1963 thru 1974 and there has been 30 or so floating around for years now. Where the rest of them?

The first shows they used the same tape and rerecorded over them. Reruns and Syndication didn't exist. I think the cost of transferring the rest to digital was just too great. Willie sold the ones he had recently. not sure if he sold them all or just the ones that were already in rotation

@@HillbillyBop Oh boy,, yeah,, I didn't think about that,, a lot of great television from that period got taped over. Makes me ill thinking about it... I'd love to know how many do still exist that haven't been aired in the last 40 years... There has got to be at least a few that fall into that category..
