Townshend definitely playing it for the camera here. I went to a gig in 1966. Just like this, only he was wearing flares by then and no guitar-trashing. To-tally amazing all the same.

Eurgh! All that sweat dripping off Moonie's chin - LOL! And I adore the way they're still making a racket when they're drawing the curtain at the end of My Generation - brilliant!

I like how Pete has the remains of the neck off of another guitar to fit the Telecaster for smashing.

It is kinda absurd when the girls scream like it was a Beatles concert when Pete actually is destroying his guitar...
