    @@scapegoatiscariot2767 Actually the lyric is "If my fist clenches crack it open, before I use it *to* lose my cool". Nothing mysterious about that, it is asking someone to help you keep your head and not get violent. Not only is it not a mysterious lyric, it is a phrase we could all stand to live by these days.

    @@geoffreylogsdon162 Incorrect. There’s no “to”, it’s “and lose my cool”. Same effect, but different wording. It’s mysterious in the sense you can’t know exactly what Townshend meant, but it’s as clear as you say in its effect it has on the listener.

    Met Mr Daltrey a couple of years ago at Charing Cross Station while waiting for a train...believe he was coming back from a day at Wimbledon, had seen him guest at a Weller gig in the woods at Pinerum Forest Preserve the previous weekend ... was a total gent, funny & self effacing sense of humour, more than happy to expend 5 minutes chatting to a total fan... always great when ur legends turn out to be even more awesome than you dared to hope LoL

    Of course the band would nail at, but at that age, I was a little worried how Roger would sound, but, wow, I agree, his voice certainly sounded older but GREAT!

    @user-zy1hh2wb6g you my friend, are completely clueless. His voice has changed and the raw emotion in this version is phenomenal. If you've only listened to a couple of studio tracks, you really have no idea what you're talking about. That's not live music. Daltrey in particular has a fantastic range, depth and tone that really can only be appreciated in the flesh. I'd suggest you put away spotify and invest your money where real coniseurs do... Seeing these artists live!

    Yeah, I doubt they could perform it with the same energy as they once did, so they've rejiggered it a little to fit what they can do. While I do prefer the older versions, I prefer this option to simply not performing it at all.

    @@StarkRG The song is still exquisite. Townsend has the easier job as a guitarist's fingers don't age as obviously as vocal cords. Daltrey's voice is much weaker, but bless him for trying, anyway.

    I love The Who. Pete and Roger still going strong after all these years. Thankfully, they are still here and they sound great. Saw them many times in concert. What a nice surprise to see them on The Late Show tonight.

    As humans age, Voices change.. something about hearing this song sung in a older mans voice hits differently with that extra something kind of emotion.. It went from young guys singing about the wild life they’re about to live to singing about the wild life they did live..

    @@DARWINZOO I think I like this version more than the original recording.. it’s like how when Johnny cash covered the NIN song hurt. the emotions in the song go to the core yet this band just preformed one of their own songs and somehow hit me like a ton of bricks in a new way..

    that scream in .. "wont get fooled again" is one of the great segments in rock. I doubt if Roge could pull it off today. Great they still sound good though.. what a performance.

    Was lucky enough to see them in concert in the SF area around 20 yrs ago. From growing up with them to hearing them now, they will always have a special place. It makes it a little easier getting old when you see your rock idols wearing comfortable shoes

    Grew up listening to The Who and I think it is utterly sad to put down on some of the best musicians ever, just because they have aged. They are iconic and always will be! Keep on Rockin in the Free World!!!

    First seen The Who in 1975. I was 14 an worked at a Pizza joint (my 1st job!) which gave me the money($8.00) a ticket to get two tickets for my brother,who was 23, an myself. Only reason I was allowed to go because my brother went too. Saw Pete, Roger, Keith, & John that night and it was, and still is, the best concert of my life! Seen them 10 other times over the years including Movin On tour which I took my wife and two girls to see in 2019. It was a great thrill to see them again so many years later with my kids! Will do it all again in a few weeks with the wife an kids and can't wait! LONG LIVE ROCK!!

    @@kennethshort2016 it's a kind of accordeon with buttons instead of keys like on a piano. The other difference is that each button plays a different not depending on whether the bellows are being pushed or pulled. Not the easiest instrument to play well.

    I feel fortunate that I got to see them 30+ years ago. Even then I considered them old when I saw them at the old Meadowlands stadium when they played the entire Tommy album for the first half of the show and then played the rest of their hits the 2nd half. Ox was still alive then too but sadly not Moon the Loon. Great show with Kenny Jones on drums. The music is timeless.

    In 1982 middle school woodshop, I made a toy-box/hope chest style box…the only adornment was a wood burned emblem of “The Who” on the side. I never could have imagined I’d still be watching real-time vids of The Who 40 years later…😲😆😜But I should have known!!!!!

    Holy shit fellas... that was killer! Roger's voice has aged wonderfully.... such power and control... it's actually pretty fucking amazing. Virtually no one from his generation has it. Pete's right hand is still unrivaled on a jumbo acoustic. Cheers, boys!

    The Who ~ St. Paul Civic Center.. 4-30-80. ..my 1st. concert Ever!!! main floor seats.. Blackfoot was their backup band~ I Was 13yrs old. This concert.. set the stage for the rest of my life!! Dope As Hell - Stephen!!!!! 🙌⛩️🕉️☯️⚛️⛩️🙌.

    Rog and Pete! Sounding great! My last concert was Who, October 13, 2019 at the Hollywood Bowl. Also December 8, 1971 at San Diego Sports Arena.

    THE WHO have always been the most wonderful combination of raw power rock performance, incredible voice harmonies and great lyrics. I'm thankful to to have come of age at the same time as them.

    The Royal Albert Hall is such an iconic venue, mainly used to classical concerts. i saw Henry Mancini perform there in about 1974.

    I admire their dedication to launch a new tour. Roger still has energy. The voice has changed. But he can still stay on top of the music. Pete has not been " electric" in a long while. I suppose he may have health issues. Live at Leeds was pure electricity. Keith is long gone. And even John hasn't been around in a long time. These guys can still run rings around new groups.
