As an archaeologist modern Westerners freaking out at human sacrificial offerings is hilarious. Offer a chieftain to the goddess via ritual asphixiation/drowning and possibly disembowellment before staking him into a bog? Fascinating Iron Age ritual. A *foreign* ancient tradition practices heart extraction? Scary! Unnatural! The horror!! That said, some people are just weird about human remains in general. I am very interested in the combination of hard and soft tissue collection, though, usually it's one or the other. Then again, we're not necessarily looking at a human settlement here...

The teeth thing especially makes me laugh too. What never been to the dentist and had a tooth or two pulled as s child and been able to keep it? Still a common occurance here in Sweden.

I'm on my third time listening to this series and the sounds on the cleaned up recording still sends a chill down my spine. If anything it might be worse because I know what's in store for our beloved repair team.

Whatever's happening to Karina is sketching me the hell out. The teeth and heart thing however is only really freaky when paired with the creepy chanting and screaming, otherwise I wouldn't be so perturbed by it. It's an ancient settlement, I feel finding some preserved human remains that may have been part of a ritual or funeral ceremony is to be expected. Walter's reactions were absolutely hilarious though (and man I love Rosa, she completely took charge and defused the situation as best she could, what a legend).

If I found that stuff in a magic stone box I'd be so excited wtf???? That's COOL
