Lorne Balfe was seriously ON FIRE with this soundtrack.
I loved the soundtrack of Shadow and Bone but Wheel of Time just _nails_ that very human, ancient feeling.
Ever since I was 7, I have been addicted to the fantasy genre, so I knew I had to see this series. This soundtrack has some of the most beautiful music that I've ever heard. It's so addictive and mesmerizing.

@@micca903 100%. That's exactly what I've been thinking. People absolutely do not realize how important and impactful theme music and scoring is for the viewing experience. Game of Thrones was very effective by creating specific musical themes for each house or location and a fantastic theme song, as well. The WOT score sounds like cheap 90s pop ballads and the theme is not thematic enough or epic enough for the world and story they are(should be) telling! Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll just change it next season inexplicably lol

This soundtrack is truly amazing. Great mix of slavic rythms with modern style. Superbly atmospheric music. Perfectly completes the story.
Mashithamel and Moiraine Sedai are my favorites from this album. I love both of these pieces a lot. The first one seems very joyful and happy and peaceful, but if you think about it, 'Young Love' is probably implied towards Egwene and Rand. The second one is very beautiful and mysterious and mystical, and it also sounds similar to the intro, which is absolutely incredible.

Honestly, the sound track was the only real part of this series I found to have any real feeling or soul.
This soundtrack was better than the show itself. There, I said it.
Al'Naito is the best thing happened in this series
I love how this soundtrack feels so different from what you'd normally hear from a fantasy-ish soundtrack. It has a modern touch that to be honest I haven't found in other soundtracks made for a fantasy show. It feels distinct and different

Good idea to read after you finish watching the series. They took several liberties in the show. This was my favorite series growing up it does lag a bit around book 8 though. Once I got over the changes on the show I was still able to enjoy the show.. Rosamund pike was a great choice for moraine. Nyneave in the show is way cooler and less annoying.
This soundtrack is awesome. My favourites are Al'Naito, Ta'maral'ailen and Ost Ninto Shostya. The show is also great so far (ep 2 and 3 being a lot better than 1). I wonder if we're going to get lyrics for all the tracks anytime soon (they were only released a couple of them so far).
There’s just something so deeply magical about this music, like it’s ancient and alive! It me crazy goose bumps all over every time. Especially the Flame song. Thank you Lorne Balfe!
I read so many fantasy novels starting at the age of 9 years old. Nothing captured me like the Epic Fantasy worlds of The Wheel of Time. I stopped reading this series in university. Watching season 1 of the series left me feeling like they couldve done much better for this series...but the music of the series stuck with me. Beautiful compsoition...so I picked it up the book series again. From Fires of Heaven. Such an EPIC start to the book series after a 5 year reading haitus! Im about to read the final book, Memory of Light... This song haunts me. A cry to fantasy...an abode to imagination. Im so glad Lorne Balfe visualised this series so beaitifully

This is P E R F E C T ! I'm a reader of Wheel of Time, i've started it sometime ago, now i'm at book 2 The Great Hunt, and i know just some bits of non-spoily lore things. So i could watch Season 1 and judge it at full extent. It was not perfect (there were some problems, like Barney Harris abandoning the cast, covid that made impossible to use original locations in mind etc. For what i'm reading now, it seems that they are doing a good work now) But to me it was spot on! I was not interested to see everything as the books (like the full travel of Rand and Mat, and so on), and i've quickly accepted all the differences (also because if you examine them and gather other pieces like x-rays, you can see sense in them. Like Perrin's wife, Layla, it exist in the books from what i know, mentioned as the probable future wife if Perrin remained at Emond's Field) The thing that i needed were the emotions that i had when reading The Eye of the World. And this series gave them to me, so, personally, it was perfect for me! Of course i hope and want improvements from the second season and forth, but remember: they are trying to adapt the entirety of the Wheel of Time, and even the first book had some problems that made it difficult to translate to a TV series (the ending of Book 1 was a mess, let's be honest) So, i'm more than satisfyed, and this soundtrack is perfect for the setting and the story!
Think you forgot one! 26:17 is titled "AL'CAIR SEI (GOLDENEYES) It would seem this song didn't make it to the list for some reason. Gotta Show the Love For Daddy Perrin Goldeneyes!
Moiranne Sedai ❤❤
The magic looked insanely good! Music and atmosphere are on point. Everything looks promising. Personally, I think this will be the no1 show in the next 2-3 years. But please don’t speed things up.

Question for bookreaders (I never read them before): Is the adaptation going well, in your oppinion?
@elizabethsedai854
2 жыл бұрын
Honestly? It's going much better than I thought it would. I was a hater, I didn't like anything I saw or heard about the show before it premiered. Perrin doesn't have a wife at the beginning, Mat isn't a thief and doesn't come from a broken home, only the boys are in question for who could be the dragon Reborn.... it's very different but they got the feel of these characters and there's a lot of potential. I actually REALLY like what they are doing, including (some)of those changes. There are definitely things I do not like, like Thom Merrilin, the Gleeman. He plays the flute and harp, juggles, and tells stories in "high/ low chant" in the books, is MUCH nicer and more charismatic, and we meet him much earlier. His voice is awful in the show and he's way younger. He was beginning to grow on me by the end of the episode, but my initial reaction was a visceral dislike. I think overall they just need some time to get their footing and get all the background and exposition out of the way and by season 2, we'll have a great show! Read the books, they are.... just amazing. They have literally helped shape my life and who I am!
@MaryaHach

Worldbuilding and atmosphere are hitting all the marks for now. But the main thing is the characters: the main cast is absolutely nailing it, they ARE their characters. After 10 years of reading and re-reading the books, I can't believe they are finally coming alive. In a couple of cases the character development has been sped up by changing things in their backgrounds (it works well for one of them, still not sure about the second), but the personality is there. Overall I'm really impressed and positive.

@@elizabethsedai854 I like this version of Thom, I think it’s more similar to a specific aspect of his character, a gleeman who needs a bit more glee in his life. And honestly I imagined him to be older as well, but him being younger and more attractive makes sense SPOILERS kinda minor ones just about Thom but still SPOILERS On some of the books like 3 or pretty much Book 5 onwards (when he receives the letter), he’s a pretty depressed guy, it’s a layer of his character that is hidden most of the time, but it’s displayed on certain scenes. I think all they did in the show was accentuate that part of his character, which I’m pretty cool with

@@carlossalazar3182 I mean, sure, Thom has a bit of a tortured soul from the start,(a couple minor spoilers coming..... I've tried to be as vague as possible!) given what happened to his nephew, Owyn, and his self-perceived failure in regard to those events. But he's more curmudgeonly in the the beginning than like, obviously jaded. He's a gleeman though, so he ALWAYS keeps that charismatic persona up, especially when in the company of our young Emond's Field-ers. Even later with The Letter he tries to keep up a front. In the beginning (and later on), he only shows his true emotions when he thinks people aren't watching, though later on, Mat DOES notice(without really noticing lol) that he's acting a little off/quiet/sad. Idk, I'm okay with changes, and I DO feel like him being younger in the show is better(especially given certain... revelations... later on), but his personality just seems way off, particularly in contrast with how wonderfully they've portrayed the other characters' personalities!
