"The West Wing" Out of Context [CC]
Фильм және анимация
This is a series I started on Twitter, and I decided to compile them all into one big video! I hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it!! :)
Follow me on Twitter to see this same video in bite-size, 2-minute pieces if you like!

I added captions to this video as well if you need them :)

In an ensemble cast of superstars, Bradley Whitford apparently managed to create a character that includes a lot of nuances that are interestingly not necessarily his own. Having recently viewed several roles he played, I discovered he is actually in the same league as heavyweights as Martin Sheen and John Spencer.

Yes, the best part is the President walking in on that
I feel this moment was missing: “Victory is mine, victory is mine. I drink from the keg of glory. Donna, bring me the finest muffins and bagels in all the land.” “It’s going to be an unbearable day.”
The fact that this doesn't include "I'M MARION COTESWORTH HAYE!" and CJ's laugh is unforgivable.

You forgot the literal first joke of the series: The President rode his bicycle into a tree. Also Bartlet hugging Toby while high on drugs.

Every time I hear this bit… I can’t help but imagine in my mind a sidewalk down by where my grandparents lived. The sidewalk went from one concession road to another, it was fresh, it was new… but if you didn’t pay attention as you got near her house, you’d walk into a telephone pole. Why? Cause instead of a gentle curve around said pole… they did a sharp(er) “U” around the thing… when paving. So yup, I picture Bartlett crashing into that pole EVERY TIME.

Fun fact: that scene and all the rural scenes were filmed in western Pennsylvania not Indiana. I know because the actors' trailers were on my Uncle's farm for a few weeks. There's a picture of Martin Sheen holding my cousin when she was a baby.

This series has some of the best dialogue I’ve ever heard. I never had so much fun listening to middle aged people have dysfunctional arguments about politics.

A fun detail. The young guy trying to help in the Indiana scenes is played by John Gallagher Jr., who will several years later play Jim Harper in "The Newsroom", another of Aaron Sorkin's creations. (Highly recommend that series, as well!)

I also didn’t notice. I had to rewind. Wow, from that small part… I know Sorkin likes to reuse people he likes. Martin Sheen was the COS on Sorkin’s American President. Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford were later on Sorkin’s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip together. Many other examples. Not Sorkin’s but Elizabeth Moss and Whitford are currently work on Handmaid’s Tales

"Game On," Season 4, Ep. 6.
This was a great compilation, but the actor/character that stirs me the most in this series is John Amos. That man stole the scenes he was in. Killing him off may have been a necessary plot twist, but it deprived the rest of us of some great acting.

@@4everyoung24 Agreed. And consider what other great casting this show had. It was a jewel of a TV experience.
"CJ, You fell into the pool there" is my favorite flashback. That, and the Chicken Dinner at the VFW with Bartlett.
How can you have a complication like this without CJ firing a revolver and getting knocked flat?
I've watched these shows enough times to place all of those in context. I plan to watch the entire series in 2024. It's the only way to keep sane in an election year.
Donna's face when she says "I framed Roger Rabbit" LOL

The reason that the majority of the clips contain bits of Josh is because although it was supposed to be the story of Sam Seaborn, Martin Sheen walked in and the first episode, and from what was to be a four bit part became a full-time job. And Josh, as deputy chief of staff was the next most important guy other than the great late John Spencer, as a Leo McGarry. so joshes role had to be seriously increased plus this is the big plus everybody loved him. They loved him and then he got shot and they loved him more and in the end of the seventh season when he got together with Donna which was the only way It could ever be. Any sooner would have screwed the show up miserably. And he is almost onset nervous break down for the second time made Josh, the most interesting person in the room when neither the president or Leo were not there.
... there are so many West Wing clips that are outstanding ... but there is one above all else ... "The Lil' Drummer Boy" and the Funeral at Arlington for he homeless vet ... I always cry ... always !!!
Unfortunately I've seen this show so many times that I automatically know the context of all of these haha
