This is not done. You can have your broken homes and pathetic depressed lives but we can also have great families where everyone loves another. Humans always lived in tribes and without a tribe you fall into depression.

Many of us care deeply about our families but our society is just structured differently. Also most parents want their children to be independent. They begin teaching them this from a young age because thats seen as being responsible and a good parent so that the child can be prepared in life.
