@@P0RKINS2 Rex had it in his hands but gave a piss poor effort on the last drive. They were down 5 with 12 min left. Just noticed the first 3rd down Grossman threw was his speciality, that medium range asshole toss without setting his feet, never came close to being caught. He always did that shit. He'd kind of bounce on his taped up shoes and then heave it up and hold a tea hand up in the air while it sailed, as if he was wishing for the best. I'll never understand why teams draft guys like this high in the first round. If he does it in college, it's who he is. Waiting for the 2024 draft, still looking for a Bears QB.

One of the stupidest decisions ever to start Grossman in a Super Bowl when they had two other QBs who could at least manage games and not lose it for you. The Bears proved that they were CLEARLY the better team all-around during the regular season and the Colts were just a team that was good enough to make it to the Super Bowl. That Bears team was stacked at every position besides QB. All that being said, I think this Super Bowl loss was the turning point that turned one of the most iconic and most successful NFL franchises into a laughingstock. Here we are now talking about starting over at QB AGAIN. This is why I have to look at Packers fans in Chicago.

I was making that comparison because Namath became overrated and got too much hype and media attention for winning one Super Bowl in which he didn't even throw for a touchdown pass. Trent Dilfer was terrible, and his only job was to give the Ravens, who prided themselves on their defense, a lead to work with. For those who want to make Joe Namath a household name because he won that Super Bowl, I tell them, "Many terrible quarterbacks also have one Super Bowl ring." Then when I saw Hester’s return for a touchdown, I thought , omg , it’s never going to happen 😂. Everything seemed to line up perfectly for Montana and Brady, and nothing came easy for Peyton. From the opening kick return for a touchdown, to the Saints recovering the onside kick to start the second half, to the opening snap going over his head vs the Seahawks. @@campete8124 Who cares, weird things happen in football. Brady was down 28-3 in a SB. And won it. So his entire team was playing terrible. But he pulled the troops together, and won, because that's what greatness does. An onside kick, that happen to start the second half. Missed field goal. Guess what, they still could have won that SB. But didn't, because of Peyton's poor play. I remember the bad pick 6 he threw, when they were going down to score, that change the out course of the game. Peyton was great, but a poor performer in the biggest games. He was poor in every SB he played in. How he won MVP in this one, was honestly, just an honorary given he finally won. He was not why they won. Colts defense was excellent, they ran the ball well, and Peyton just kinda game managed. I won't say he did 'nothing' but he wasn't what really shined either.

The first season I got into football was Kyle Orton's rookie season, the Bears have made horrible decisions since I was a wee lad. I remember being confused as to why they put Grossman back in against Carolina when Orton got us to the playoffs. Then the next season was this superbowl season and I'm still convinced they would've won if they'd have stuck with Orton. Dude never put up numbers, but that was an era where you could win with a Trent Dilfer, Kyle Orton wasn't a turn over machine. The Bears went to the superbowl with a 30 turnover QB, they should get a ring just for that. Then in the superbowl Grossman did what he does best and turned the ball over 3 times with a fumble, a pick, and another pick six. I've never seen an NFL QB fumble more snaps than Rex Grossman, the most basic of basic things were difficult, I've seen QBs fumble snaps maybe once or twice over their careers and Grossman seemed to do it multiple times a year over his few years as a Bear. The Bears would've been better off handing the ball to Thomas Jones 53 times rather than letting Grossman have the ball in his hands at any point.
