i adore the use of different gameplay methods and texture packs to convey different perspectives. so much nicer than throwing some big bold text in the corner saying "PLAYER TWO"

I'll be honest, I did not keep with this one, it just felt like it was cobbled together and trying to be creepy with poor character acting, but I hope this video proves me wrong. edit: after watching it, while the ARG has some cool things to it I feel that they should've focused more on answering questions and providing a cohesive story instead. The entire ARG feels almost aimless and some of the clues feel needlessly cryptic and otherwise meaningless. The ARG feels like they just went with a spooky concept with bees and ran with it, writing the story as they went along.

I agree..instead of providing answers it kept looping through the same questions and hints which wasn't helping; for example it kept showing: the bees, drones, holes, poppies, punishment, the queen, the watcher, and other such things..but instead of ellaborating it just kept showing them over an over with new videos and new characters which doesn't explain anything. It honestly feels like they just threw stuff at a wall and went "yea this is spooky enough!" without planning out the puzzles and questions properly to make it somewhat cohesive. I have no idea what this "arg" is trying to tell, idk what the story is really

I was hoping the inclusion of Terraria would've kept me invested but it didn't. I can sympathize with how hard it is to make a really interesting and scary story, but. I couldn't get into this one. Idk how to word it, but it was more entertaining to poke fun at this one than it was actually figuring out whatever mystery was being conveyed. This one also appears to barrow a LOT of saturated tropes and doesn't bring anything new to the table.

Oh god seeing Space Funeral and Off be used was really sick, that's two of my favourite RPG Maker games Also one small nitpick; disobeyance is absolutely a word and is a seldom used synonym for disobedience, although used mostly for infracting on established rules (in like a professional or legal sense) rather than against some kind of general command. It's almost more formal, it fits better in an employee handbook like this rather than disobedience. Like you would use "in disobeyance of the law" rather than "in disobedience of the law." Sorry, I need to put my English degree to work at least SOMETIMES

​@@Cogit- theres nothing weird about that, foreign shows in subtitle when the robot cant understand and it assumes the speech/music is foreign, thank you is a common bug though or might mean something in a debug code

This ARG has some interesting concepts but IMO it keeps running in circles way too much and never actually ANSWERING anything

Fun fact: The Gmod gameplay in the background is filmed on what I assume is an older version of a map that is called "Gm_Nester"

I watched it yesterday and now I come back, and I see there are only hundreds of views, I don't know if it's a youtube bug or the actual view count, but it's criminal. Your work on that video was sublime and you made me discover an ARG I'd never heard of. Thank you to have taken the time to do that video and for the efforts you put to do it! I'll gladly watch more of these if you do more in the future!

I will say that i fully understand your hesitance to run the EXE file on that itchio game, though if its on Itch, its pretty safe to say its safe to play. Itch is a site that in my experience doesnt let malware stay up for long if it spots it.

not only is it from itchio it's an RPG Maker 2000/2003 game, and no version of RPG Maker can connect to the internet at least not without external resources and scripting/plugins, which the 2000 versions don't support at all by default

So honestly a lot of the problems I have with this one is that the player(s) is over-acting. Yes the glaringly obvious jumpcuts like at 11:15 are bad, but the biggest issue is how over-acted it is, imo. The stiffness of the players' movements fails to land into the uncanny valley of minecraft play and instead just comes off as extremely tryhard. Stuff like player 1 randomly deciding to smack one of his pigs with a pickaxe for no reason, and then deciding to mine one singular block of stone before turning around fails to be offputting, and just ends up reminding me this is an amateur webseries and completely preventing any sense of immersion. That's the kind of thing I would do as a kid to pretend Herobrine had hacked into my Minecraft account. Another thing is how the inventories are arranged, the players very rarely have anything in their inventories or chests that don't have purposes as props. There's never the realistic angle of a player having a stack or 2 of cobblestone in their inventory, they're never carrying food, all their tools are always in pristine condition at full durability (because they were brought in from Creative Mode just before recording), it all contributes to a vibe of "I'm watching a shoddily constructed webseries," and you never get past that. Also the Steve face on the bees gives the same vibe as that one picture of Mike Wazowski with Sully's face, it's completely non-threatening and even got a giggle out of me.

That's what I was going to say, all the gameplay being done like it's a new player is overdone. It's less like someone fumbling with the controls and more like someone deliberately playing badly to look new to the game. The only part I find cursed is the lack of view bobbing but I think you can toggle that in the settings.

You really shouldn't make complaints about not being able to connect a thing when you yourself skip an entire thing. It obviously took you a lot of time and effort to make this, but by skipping one thing you undermined the legitimacy of anything you say and your effort. All because anything shown in that 1 skipped thing could disprove anything you say. I'm not defending any faults of the ARG as it likely wouldn't fix some things but on a big project with a lot of work I felt like I wasted my time because you half did it and in turn I'm in a position where to verify it I have to download and play the file. The very thing you didn't want others to risk.

I have been waiting for someone to make a video on this Minecraft ARG for so long! I had considered doing a video on it myself but I've been busy with college and a project of mine, but it's good to see you went over a lot of the important details. In particular, I never thought about this connection in 57:12. Machinery.png has a corresponding audio in the SoundCloud track, "procedure", which if you reverse the audio, sounds like machinery. A few other things I'd note down here that might help: 53:04 during the time in which the ARG was active, the link led to a download of an image called planning.png, which depicted a pine tree in a yellow background, presumably the Vast. As it turned out, renaming the image's file type to .zip or .rar and extracting that reveals a plethora of images and audio files. Luckily, I have the .rar saved in the google doc linked below if you wish to check that out. 55:54 the video "5" also takes place in the Vast. The text you see there is Hebrew which translates to, "queen." I counted around 11 to 12 different Minecraft players which makes this a very unique story

the language you dont know at 55:54 is hebrew, and "מלכה" or "malca" in english letters, wich is the thing written there translates to the word queen, so i guess the face of steve is the queen because whoever is playing in that video witnesses her as is written in the tags (btw hebrew is my native language so yes i know what im talking about)

That being said, I have no clue what this could mean. It could just be how the Hive refers to YHWH. It could be in reference to the watching one's telepathy, as it follows that the son of an all language/alphabet-encompassing God would have mastery over all forms of communication. Even to the extent of communicating through the tags/keywords and the video description, both of which it has done. Additionally, I believe the reason that Russian/cyrillic came up as a possibility here is because one of the only appearances of this word online is in a Ukranian-only science journal in 2017. The paper is entitled "To the history of the abbotship of St. Paisius of Velichkovsky in the Simonopetra monastery on Mount Athos according to previously unknown archival documents of the 18th century." (rough Google Translation). The point here being that the word "Pangrammaton" DOES appear in this paper, but only in a footnote of a reference of a work relating to latin poetry (I think) where it is specifically referred to in the context of a latin epigram. anyway that's all i'm tired goddam. I tried running the "EMPLOYEE EDUCATIONAL ENTERTAINMENT" and I got an error saying "RPG Maker 2003 RTP not found". I found a fix online and tried again only to get another error, this time claiming it couldn't open a file. I briefly searched for a fix but have given up.
