Wait until you hear CAS's "The Colossus Of Ylourgne". I hope Ian reads that one soon.
Clark Ashton Smith! a very nice tale from 1932. "Weird Tales" was a tresury vault for this kind of stories! Thank you Ian. Your voice made the story even better than a simple reading.
There's something to be said about a writer who can fit the word 'squidgy' in alongside such crossword-puzzle words like 'oleaginous'.
CAS is unmatched for the fantasric.
Love the story! There’s nothing more delectable than a fat moneylender!

Yet another one of my favorites! I'm so glad you're on a C.A.S. kick. The combination of the man's deliciously sardonic sense of humor paired with your exquisite narrative aptitude is just... *chef's kiss*.
This week on Clark Ashton Smith’s ‘Seven Deadly Sins’, we explore greed in ‘The Weird of Avoosl Wuthoqquan’. Next week, join us as Ralibar Vooz delves deeper into his pride, as well as the ancient, god-ridden innards of Mount Voormithadreth in ‘The Seven Geases’.
Love c,a, Smith and your great voices are very important to the on point reading of these classic out of this world(in this world) stories,I suffer from ADHD and addiction problems, and your station has been such a great tonic,to my often dark and painful restlessness and lack of sleep, loved the seeling of Mars, thanks for your time, now off to dream of Wizards,, desolate planet's with strange odour, and rituals that man is unable to contemplate, thank you for my new dreamscape, and healing of my addiction, keep up the weird tales.
“And now for the first time my memory records verbal discourse, Warren addressing me at length in his mellow tenor voice; ‘Keep up the good work and, as always, stay safe!’ “

"Honestly officer I don't remember anything about it." "Nothing at all." A likely story.
good evening Ian - love taking another trip to Hyperborea
Thank you, Ian. I asked for this a while ago and was so excited when you said soon. Well soon is now today! Awesome. I like to think of the 2 emeralds like the lure of an angler fish. Perfect trap for plump usurers!!
Fantastic story! Really like Clark Ashton Smith's work! Your narrative is brilliant!
I can't help but think that there must be quite a lot of preparation before one attempts to tackle a story by CAS. As it has been said, one does not simply stumble into such a thing blindly. But rather, with deliberate and careful effort, does the sage coax the eldritch wisdom out from its burrow of bound pages. You do such a phenomenal job with Smith's vocabularic gymnastics. It's amazing.
I really liked this one. Straight forward with a fun ending. Good stuff!
I wish there was more hyperborean stories. They've dried up in the modern era. But maybe that's for best.
"Avoosl"? That sounds like something one might hunt in Forty Acre Wood.
Oooooh, what a fine tale. It is a good tale of the repercussions of extreme "avarice" and "usury". This is a lovely tale! CAS is amazing. I love how these old writers sling awesome words around we do not see used these days! Fantastic narration. Thanks!!

YEAH, WOOOOOOOOOOO, HYPERBOREA, WORTH WAITING 10 HOURS AFTER WORK. My night and vibe are perfectly set, thank you gratefully lad
Warren was spotted delivering packages for FedEx in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He had a thick moustache.
Just listening to this on my new Klipsch speaker setup. Your voice is sounding better than ever Ian! The way you annunciate CAS' words is simply splendid.

Excellent story and narration as always. Thank you Mr.Gordon and Horror Babble. Until next time.
My goodness I love these so much. The brilliantly crafted way of how the most impactful words remain the very last, like great grim punchline!
Oh man this is a great one
Ah, this is the traditional, wholesome family entertainment I've been craving.
The beginning part with all the sudden introductions of people and places was a bit too fast to digest in one go, but after that initial set-up of the story your narration had the perfect cadence and speed. I loved the story and your telling of it even more! Please keep them coming!
I love this story. =)
Loving the "Wazzup, bruh?" vibe from that thing in the thumbnail.
Another great one, thanks!
More CAS! the 'Tomb Spawn' or 'Island of Torturers' would make for great readings too.
Gives new meaning to "Eat the Rich" 😂. An excellent story and reading as usual.
God bless you and your work sir ❤❤❤ respect from Croatia 💙💙💙
Oh, I do enjoy a good yarn from Clark Ashton Smith!
Thanks, always great to hear from you.
Always beautiful language, and an enticing story. Great narration. Thank you very much from Ruth x
I love it, love the stories, love the channel, keep doing what you do Horrorbabble
I can listen to Smiths stories over and over again. Quite the clever writer.. Not that I'm the cleverest of readers....listener..whatever. Man that guy had a talent for writing. It's such a shame that he seems to have lost the spark for it after Lovecraft died. I know it never left him but I suppose the loss of a great supporter/compatriot mustve queered the whole business for him. I imagine that's how I would feel about some of the hobbies my younger brother and I share. It's just never the same when your band gets broken up.

I think his parents age and health put a toll on him. And we he lost them, it seems he was adrift. Like so many gifted people, he had a price to pay.

Great work, as usual. Thank you for sharing 💜
I think my brain stopped working with the phrase, "with slightful suddenness."
Haven't heard that one before... I really like it.
Excellent thank u gorden .
My favorite C.A.S. story I've read so far had to do with a recurring group of spacefarers on board a rocket ship which got brought down to a planet which seemed to be populated by machines.
Could you do City of the Singing flame & Beyond the Singing flame by CAS sometime? That would be awesome!
oh this voice is a treat to my ears ! 🤩
I love this channel.
H P really Liked CAS also name dropping him in a couple stories at least inculding Pickmans Model one of my favs.My All time CAS is The Vaults of Yoh Vombis.Though this one "rocks" as well!
Haha! Great story!
Clark Ashton Smith was one hell of a sadistic Dungeon Master, but I can't say that his players don't deserve it. Listening to this just to learn how to pronounce "Avoosi Wuthoqquan" - I presume you have consulted with scholars of the ancient Hyperborean on this?
Warren is alive and a guest at an Indian restaurant in the southern slopes of the Himalayas. Currently he’s pretending to be vegan, as he suspects a Rakshasa is the chef.
That was intense
YUMMY!
Avoosl Wuthoqquan - putting the weird into the weird tale genre. 😀

I think this boss fight is bugged. Harley Warren is in my party but when i step through the fog gate I hear "You fool. Warren is dead!" and the fight won't trigger. No, I can see him on the screen and who is saying that? Did i soft lock my game somehow? I have all the pages, both keys, the ebony finger, onyx pyramid and the moonlight great sword. What did I do wrong? Is there no way to save him?

@@randallbesch2424 IDK what is up. I walk into the fog gate, "you..............dead", some narrator launches into like 25:30 of exposition and the fight never triggers. I mean, cool lore dump and all but this was the eldenflame demonsoul ring that I needed to fight Gascoigne and beat the game. What world state is the Moon Presence supposed to be in?

Great narration, enjoyed the story, think the author could have used less flowery and unnessesary descriptions.
It always astounds me how anyone manages to pronounce things with CAS. Well done! Ps when I try to read his stuff out loud it’s awful and I end up changing the words to real words or start to try to say it but always end it in “whatever”.
You know what? Forget my original comment I just want everyone to know, I hate autocorrect.

please consider not using ai art, it's so destructive to other artists and will just get worse. thumbnails for audio narrative channels have little impact on whether i click, just needs a good title and story blurb.
I always thought that Clark Ashton Smith must be one of the worst writers in history. After hearing this story I remain convinced of this.
