every body is different and requires different things. please consult your doctor before making any changes and if you are struggling with an eating disorder www.nationaleatingdisorders.org/ may be a helpful resource.

Thank you for pointing out that your body “structure” is the same no matter the weight. It’s what the standard scale is missing. There is more to it than just height and weight to your health. You have to understand that your body is just structured a particular way. And each of us has a comfortable weight that we feel our best at. That’s different for every body. Some part of knowing that made me feel better about living in my current body while I’m aspiring to be 75lbs down. My access pounds are the story of survival in the hardest year of my life so I’m not sad but I want to restore myself physically, emotionally and mentally and this conversation was so inspired, honest and encouraging. Thank you for posting.

Pretty much. But working out you can absolutely mold your body. Build a butt and firm chest. I lost 60 lbs and my doctor told me that it’s less about the weight and more about where it’s carried. Keeping your waist under a certain size eliminates the threat of heart disease.

I go between 180 and 220... it is frustrating. 190 is where I want to be... that is where I feel my healthiest.... it is just sooooo hard. I was doing really well, but then I gained 20lbs recently. We (my wife and I and our 4 kiddos) got 2 new foster kiddos in the house (grand total = 6 kiddos) who were severely malnurished, so my wife was cooking to healthy them up... and I enjoyed it a bit too much. Now I have to get back to my normal eating and get back to where I need to be. It is hard because I have always have issues with food. So trying to maintain is a daily struggle

I suffered from a severe eating disorder for 9 years of my adult life. Ages 25 to 34. I am 5’5” and weighed 80 lbs the majority of that time. I’m 40 now. Thank God I’ve been fully recovered since 2015, but I wish I could get those years I lost back. So glad that chapter of my life is done!🤍

Wow, this is the conversation I didn't know I needed. I have experience the same things and it's been a very difficult and lonely battle. At 36 I was at that point where I was seeing the light at the end of the tunnel but still had work to do.... After so much trauma in my life, I decided that enough was enough. Then my sister committed suicide 💔 and things went down hill for me. I'm now 41 and finally seeing the end of the tunnel again (sometimes) After she passed my emotional eating got worse and I'm at my heaviest I've ever been. Today I decided to give myself a chance (again) and started a low carb diet as I get the hang of keto. I decided to come on KZread to check out your channel while I cooked my dinner and this was the first video I saw. You don't know how much it meant for me to hear you've struggled too. Makes me feel less alone and understood in this battle. ❤

I’ve always struggled with weight loss. After when I got sick with thyroid cancer. And I also have a disability that comes with other health issues. And you have always been my role model for acting. And now I’m a actress. I’ve been in a few movies. When I saw you on tv and how comfortable you were. You made me realized. It is all about your talent and not your weight. I finally lost weight. And it took forever to lose weight ♥️.

I'm a year younger than you and grew up watching you on TV. We loved everything you've done. Watching you come out really helped me to as well. I’ve had an Ed ever since I can remember probably since 12 (now 20) it’s crazy. Even now I’m stuck in it. People make fun of me bc I’m “too skinny” or I “look like I’m dying” and the crazy thing is they think it helps lol. It’s such a touchy subject and even though people are more excepting now, they still don’t understand how words effect people. Also, people seem to think that being overweight is the only thing that causes health issues but so does being underweight. Neither is good and both mean your body isn’t going to be happy. I remember watching Disney channel and I honestly thought you were so pretty and hilarious! And I still do:) both of you are beautiful and I am happy you found what works for you! Happy holidays

I always failed at the keto diet... because there are so many fraudulent products out there with the label "keto friendly" on them that it almost seemed impossible to have a simple keto diet that would be sustainable. That is until I found the carnivore diet. Nine months in and I'm now in a daily state of therapeutic ketosis... I am no longer hypertensive, no longer pre-type 2 diabetic, no longer do I have IBS, no longer do I have GERD, no longer do I have sleep apnea, all of my neuropathy is gone, my psoriasis is gone and I've so far lost sixty pounds. Also, after a full metabolic blood workup, my cholesterol went down by 37 points while all my other markers are good. I'm 56 years old and I'm jogging and working out again for the first time in 17 years. Its my goal to age as slowly as possible and regain as much health and fitness as I can before its too late. Good work Raven... keep it up. If you ever feel that you're struggling... consider doing a year of an all animal product diet and see how fast you recover your health.

Thank you both so much for this video. I’m going on my own journey now, and I’ve tried every diet out there…. But once I discovered & learned more about you’re journey and the method in which you both have taken, along with the education and clearly wonderful benefits of it all… I became inspired to try a Keto, and fasting lifestyle. It’s like something clicked for me & I’ve never in my life been more excited about my food choices & having the recognition that it is a lifestyle change. And I just want to say thank you both for your insight, you’re personal journey with weight & food, the education of it all, truly I thank you for sharing your experiences & opening my eyes to not only educate myself more, but to actually see eating in a completely different way, it really is something that makes me pause, look & think of the benefits of a healthy balanced lifestyle change differently. The way I went about all the diets through out my life, & how for me personally, never seeing real change, It was then I realized that, for me, it’s definitely a change in mentality. The food consumption along with the overall lifestyle, that makes it easier & less stressful about food & my body structure & just knowing that my body is my body, & taking care of it with a better understanding, makes my mind, body & soul happy.💫So THANK YOU BOTH! Without you’re education, i dont know if I’d ever see or do things differently. Forever great full 🤍

i must say that i was thin until i was 19. i often heard from my relatives "eat kid". i remember my mother telling me that she was in a mother child cure with me because i even didn't gain weight. i rather always had the problem that i was one of the bigger ones in the room. then i started my training as a geriatric nurse and was traumatized several times in the nursing home. i had nothing to balance my stress and the pressure on me. at some point i only had food. i was getting chubby and everyone around me noticed and had something to say. at that time i couldn't talk about what was going on. even had nutrition counseling or i knew some things about food from my cook training before that. now it's like i've tried so many things to lose weight but i struggle because the real reason in my head paralyzes me and holds me back. i would love to feel good but society makes it hard. have to say that my blood levels are still in the green range and i don't have any restrictions or pain. i don't want to hear that i'm brave when i wear a swimsuit. i want to be myself no matter what i look like and not hear i have to lose 30 kilos to be accepted.

I love you ladies for this. You are both so inspiring and strong to be able to have the conversation. I’ve been struggling with my weight on and off for about six years now and I’ve had a lot of trouble with different diets. For the longest time I thought I had metabolic syndrome because I would do everything right and still gain weight. I do believe now that listening to my body, understanding its structure, and going by what feels best for me is the only way to do it. I am taking all of your tips and tricks because they are both so different and using these now to implement a different sort of lifestyle for myself. Especially because diabetes, heart disease, and obesity run heavily in my family. Raven, you are the shit girl. She cooked every day. But in between fast foods & sweets. In the house out the house. Lmao! 2003 I was up looking at tv 2-3 in the am. I'd keep junk in my draws. I don't know what came over me, but I got up and threw everything out! Stopped drinking soda, red meat. If I wanted something sweet, I ate it. I ate: salad, ground Turkey, fish chicken, veg. I didn't even realize how much&how fast the weight was falling off. People were like whoa! Wasn't until I was coming in from work, changed my clothes on my way back down the steps and my shorts fell. I almost killed myself. Lol..... I lost about 60 pounds. And the a few yrs later, stress ,depression got me. Never got back 2 weight I was, but 2 close 4 me! Now I'm soooooo stuck! My health is not good meaning most of my body is JACKED UP! Spinal stenosis, scoliosis, hip bursitis, deg. Arthritis knees, hip. Etc..... I stop w/that dont wanna depress nobody🤗 so w/ all of that I wish 2 b like u guys when I grow up. Lol... Looking 4 a good therapist also. Ready 2 get my quality of life back! Thank u 2 4 starting the channel. I know ur gonna help a lot of people! Much luv & peace 2 u♡

i’m 13 and i think i have a food addiction based on what Raven just said. Looking back to when i got my teeth pulled i couldn’t eat certain stuff. and i started crying because i couldn’t eat pizza and everyone else was eating except for me because my mash potatoes was still cooking.

Thanks for this video. You most definitely look like you've lost a lot of inches along with your weight. You look fabulous! I've been doing keto for almost 6 years and I too am a huge fan of Keto Chow. I have a whole pantry of it. BTW. Have you tried making Keto Chow ice cream in a Ninja Creami? It's a HUGE game changer. You really need to get one. 😋😋😋

Hi Raven and Miranda, I saw the video I am Italian and obviously like most people I follow a fairly balanced Mediterranean diet, preferring a lot of fruit and vegetables, whole carbohydrates, proteins, healthy fats and obviously in the right quantities also desserts and sweets. Following this style, I have never gained too much weight or lost weight, I am in the right weight. Seeing this video the message that comes out is "I solved my problem with food by removing carbohydrates and fasting" obviously you do it because maybe you have pathologies or something else I don't know but maybe it was better to specify why this diet you follow with fasts included it is not for everyone indeed it is harmful if not done well and many girls could take a cue instead of eating everything in a balanced way without fasting in case they have no health problems but their interest is only to be in better shape. I think it's nice that you shared your stories etc ... but the message that you remove carbohydrates is wrong or at least it should have been better explained why and to say not to imitate this diet if you do not have carbohydrate metabolization pathologies.

This just goes to show how alone she felt. She stated she was the only one back then pushing for body positivity, but that’s not true. There were a lot of BBW like Monique who had to scream she is comfortable in her skin so ppl would stop shaming her in hood that she would crack and crawl under a rock. We need to do better…

I have a completely different experience with food and being raised in the south. For me, I have been naturally thin my entire life. And being raised in the south, I was always looked at as sickly and malnourished because I didn’t have a certain amount of thickness to my body. It’s interesting because in the south a lot of people are raised that being thick is being healthy and if you’re too thin that must mean you’re sickly. But in the industry that I was trying to be a part of as a professional dancer and an artist a TV host a creative etc., the thinner you are the healthier you are. So I’ve always had this dichotomy of what I am supposed to look like. Even to this day I still struggle with excepting being naturally thin and wanting to be thicker. And as a Transwoman there is a layer of body dysmorphia that plays into that and is only increased by that confusion
