The Weeknd is not way more successful, Mars is still fucking enormous. Mars currently holds spots 7 and 13 on the BBH 100 and The Weeknd has spots 9 and 14. 24k Magic Album is #2 and Starboy album is #5, even though Mars' came out earlier. Mars is also worth over twice The Weeknd and just about all of it comes from music sales. Don't let The Weeknd hype (mainly through Vevo and Spotify) confuse you. I can only imagine how many views Mars would have by now if he was on Vevo.
