But for the Weeknd he's truly genuine and sincere through his music in every song he makes. This is the way he feels in real life and he expresses all of his true emotions feelings and thoughts in his songs which we as fans appreciate. Also makes it more addicting to listen to his songs. The beauty of the Weeknd's music is that you can feel the pain in his voice. Some people call it mumble singing and it's almost that- except he's not mumbling. He's singing and hitting high notes but it's muffled by the beat which mixes perfectly with his voice. It gives the illusion of someone crying out for help- the exact same feeling as having a panic attack or feeling alone and wanting to break out of that rut. He's the perfect artist for when ur going through s*it and need something healing to listen to.

I remember this album came out the same week a girl left me for someone else. I would listen to it on repeat. I’ll forever have a memory to it now.

This is the way that seems toxic, but at times this masterpiece is a very dope reminder to be better.

I don’t think I can even comprehend how much of a masterpiece this song is and still is. The layers of vocal and tempo changes, lyricism, emotion, not to mention the haunting @ss SIREN MUSIC at the end, like bro c’mon. On par with ‘I Was Never There’ without a doubt. What I can feel from his songs is that the Weeknd kinda seems like that really emotional guy who gives his heart completely to a person when he falls in love, connects to them, and when the person disappoints him and begin to play with his heart, it affects him deeply... So deeply that he just doesn't have any more heart to give, it's broken, and then what happens? He gets lost thinking that it would be better to just not have anything serious with anyone. The relationship involves pretty much just sex, he doesnt want to have feelings involved, and he does it for some time, even though he knows its not the real him, he lost, trust issues, its even the title of one of his songs man....:(
