The Way it Ends - Prototype - HD Guitar Cover
Музыка
One of my most favorite songs my an absolutely kick-ass band! Had a blast recording this! I've wanted to cover this for absolutely ages, so I finally got around to doing so. :D Learnt by my ear and eyes.
Played on my Jackson SLATTXMG 3-6 Soloist into my Focusrite 2i2. I am using Bias FX and Reaper for the recording. For the video, I recorded through a cheap "HD" webcam.
ENJOY! :D

Hey Andrew, great job at figuring it out and great playing as well! I actually played drums in Prototype from 92 to 96. We opened for many great bands during that time. Bands like Death, Morbid Angel, Sacred Reich, Forbidden, etc.... I recorded all the drum tracks (except Heart Machine) for Continuum way back in 98 at Steve Vai's mansion/studio in Malibu CA. I also did a small European tour with them in 02 for their album prior to Continuum as well as a few shows here and there after that. Kragen and Vince are amazing musicians and very unique in their own right. To this day I've haven't played in a band with any other musicians of their caliber or technicality! Cold is this God is my all-time favorite song on Continuum, other than The Way it Ends and Synthespian! Damn, I was so fucking good at playing drums back then, what happened!?!? Keep on shreddin' dude, L8RZ....... Respect, Damion Ramirez

Hey man, wow! thanks so much dude! That means a lot coming from you! That's awesome man, playing alongside Death must've been pretty special, that's crazy haha :D Your drumming on this album is incredible dude! It's one the main things I love about Continuum! Ah no way, Steve Vai's mansion?! That's insane haha! Yeah "Cold is This God" is awesome as well dude! aha yeah, you're a fucking sick drummer though man, keep it up! :) Thanks a bunch mate! Really appreciate it man! :) Laters dude! \m/

@DamionChrist Hey man, that's pretty good to hear. Must've been quite an experience to live through. I wanted to ask, is there any chance you could upload some videos (live gigs or other) from the time you played with Prototype or with other bands if you have access to it? I'd love to have a look. I went through your channel but couldn't find anything. Although I took a look at your 92FS playlist, there are some interesting stuff there. (Didn't know about the 93R, that's quite a fun piece). Anyways, I'd love to check some of your drumming videos if you can find any. And I'm sure fans of the albums you played on would be glad to have access to that as well. Cheers from France man! 🍻
this song is so underrated.. bad ass riffing, use of something other than power chords.. awesome cover

Same here. Just saw the previous video, and this one. And this is A LOT BETTER, since you're playing it better than the other guy. Or maybe due to fact the fact of lame quality video of the other guy. Still, you rock dude!!! I'm trying to make it on GH3 for XBOX360, it's really tough.
one of the best covers ever
The best cover that i've seen on youtube \o/
Those solos sounded so nice and fluent with that tone...nice attention to detail, especially if this was done by just eyeing and hearing. Awesome work, man~

Fucking sick dude! Your tone is on point as well as usual. You have a super tight right hand for rhythm stuff as well.

+ESPSJ Thanks a lot man! Yeah, I really dig this tone I got at the moment. It's got less mids than I usually have but it sounds pretty chunky still haha. I need to get a decent camera though, the picture sucks imo aha. yeah thanks man! this song absolutely killed my hand though lol, it's just constant alternate picking. It's completely insane haha

***** I think the camera quality is fine man! Honestly I watch so many different covers these days and the main thing I care about is playing and tone, if the tone is bad I go to the next video but your tone is very good and so is your playing so you got nothing to worry about ;) I just got the new Samsung S6 and I'm thinking of ditching my Canon 600D and just using my S6 for video since the quality is that good.

+ESPSJ oh really? thanks man, :) I appreciate that dude! Yeah I know what you mean, tone is really important. I find it really hard to enjoy a cover if the guy is playing through some horrible, cheap, crappy, fizzy amp. its just awful! It's painful to listen to sometimes lol. ahaha oh wow man! the S6 is really that good? thats awesome man! I like my webcam as I can place it just about anywhere in any position haha. its really handy :)
Great cover!

Holy fuk bro you a fukin beast fam that shit was dope af
Well damn, I had part of a solo in my head and couldn't figure out what the hell that was. I sure knew it wasn't from me... Then I started to get Guitar Hero vibes and I got it! Prototype. I needed to make sure I got the right track and your cover appeared on top of the search results so I used it to check the solo, and damn mate, you sure did it justice! 😎🤘 Anyways, great video. Great cover too, ear training is the way to go and get limited. Keep on rocking and cheers from France! 🍻 PS: The part I had stuck in my head was the first couple of bars of the solo, starting with the sweeps and the following run. Such a great composition!

cassidybychance Hey, Cassidy! thanks so much for the kind words! I appreciate it :) Well, first, I record all the footage seperately on my phone. Then I import the raw video files into a video editing software. At the time, I was using Sony Veags Pro. Anyway, with that software I'm able to resize and place the video where ever I like in the frame. So I place the main video first to cover the entire screen. I then place the second clip on top of that. After that, I rezise and move the second clip so that both videos are clearly visible simultaneously in the same frame. I hope this helps, have a great day!

Hey man! Thanks for the support. I tuned my guitar to D standard for this song. I'm not 100% if that is the tuning they used on the record but that is how I went about learning/playing it. Cheers!
