Well there you have it folks! I’m sure some will agree & others will disagree. I appreciate all of the work& time that goes into making this happen. Can’t wait to hear & see what WCJ will have for the top 3 PWC’s next year for 2024! Thanks for sharing Billy D

Normally the watercraft Journal published it's annual watercraft of the year award much earlier in December , but always before Christmas 🌲

I purchased a '23 Explorer 170 Pro, and it is not only my first PWC; it is my first ever water craft. I like to travel and wanted to get on the water, however a boat is too inconvenient and costly for me to own at this point. I bought my Explorer Pro in November and got an incredible deal for it. For the price you couldn't even touch a semi-decent used boat for I got a brand new unit that can do 55 mph, has at least 100 miles of range on to a tank of fuel, can carry gear, has a windshield, has a native chartplotter, has a sound system, and is fun to ride. I'll get a go-fast ski in the future, but for now the Explorer ticks my requirements list nicely.

Congrats. I bought my first watercraft this year aswell. 23 gtx 300. Absolutely love it as I'm sure you do yours. Living in ny the season is short. Enjoy your new seadoo and may you have many problem free hours on the water!Ps, even with a supercharger as long as I stay under 45 mph I can get 85 to 90 miles on a tank (18.5g tank) usually my brother and I need gas at the same time (gti170) even though I'm using more gas I have 4 more gallons in the tank.

Thanks for the video. Why do you find the Kawi rear deck so much worse? I assume you are talking about loaded. Is it harder to climb over? I get the Sea Doo latches are quick and easy. No question there. But is there an issue with the Kawi once loaded? I have not purchased the Kawi rack but watching JD's videos on it, it looks very useful. Thanks again. Enjoyed it. Imagine it was tough to crown the Explorer king when you have such strong dislikes on it! Raises the integrity bar!

Hey Kevin, I don’t get it. Is it that there’s so many people that don’t want to spend additional money to buy a jet boat for Shallowater fishing?

Haven't seen even one explorer on the water. How many actual customer sales were there?

Sea-Doo won't disclose total sales numbers but the run is estimated to be between 4,000 and 6,000 total units with a 2023 closure of 92% sold.

Yamaha didn’t innovate or redesign on their 23 models just kinda stayed the same. Now as for 2024 with the new 1.9L engine maybe we’ll see something

Kevin, kudos to you for sticking to your guns and being personally unbiased with the scoring. I know how much you hate the ride of the Explorer Pro - you can hear it in your voice, lol! I think the theme is modularity and the manufacturers offering ways for customers to accessorize more and more. I think they could sell WAY more accessories (cup/rod holders, Garmins, bumper/handle, bilge pumps, tow taps, heated grips, windshields, etc) if offered on more machines at time of sale and as DIY retrofits…

Mr Shaw gives impecable facts about these skiis. That kawi's front end still looks like a warthog--ugly.

I was skeptical of the Kawi looks initially but I have to say it has done nothing but grow on me and everyone that sees it. I truly like the look now. In person and in the sun especially. Bow opening is stupid small but the gullwings are great.

We have 8 Explorer Pro's and use them all year long at Lake Powell. Bullet proof and my clients love them. We usually get 105 miles per tank (@38-40 mph)at elevation 3550. Top speed is 54-55 here. Windscreen.... very, very cool and functional... 100 liter gear bag is awesome. We camp out several times a year and it holds all we need.

Lies!!!Kevin. Go back to bed. You need more sleep😂😂😂 I’m not a seadoo fan but the Apex is Nice 🤌 Just wish they move away from the carbon 💩seal On the kawi I just don’t like the maintenance you need to do with the supercharger belt. Engine needs to move to replace them. Wish kawi focus more on ease of maintenance.

Kawasaki has 1500cc Yamaha has 1900cc Sea Doo has 1600cc I wish Kawasaki would upgrade to an inline-six 2000cc = 79mm x 68mm "six in a row" perfect balance smooth power. It would be the most premium engine of Jet Skis.
