I am Turkish and living in Australia. have the Gallipoli story from the both side like just Russell Crowe. wars always don't separate the nations..Sometimes get them more together and more closer to each other and no matter how far them from each other..This is the most heartbreaking war for Turks and so do Anzacs.. I am big fan of Russell Crowe and Cem Yilmaz that's why, am looking forward to watch this movie.

I can't understand why you guys blame the Turks all the time? Why, don't you guys think ARMENIANS also killed the Turks and Azeris? Even their government supported terrorist organisation killed many Turkish embassies all around the world recently. Be impartial, then talk to me!

We think it happened?? i don't think the survivors of the genocide think, they know. The ancestors of the diaspora Armenians knew it. The US ambassador to Turkey wrote about it. Many eye witness documents exist. The fact that the Armenians no longer live in what you call eastern Turkey is because many either died or escaped to start diaspora communities. More Armenians live in diaspora today than in Armenia and it didn't happen for no reason. After more than 3000 years of history in the Armenian highlands the Ottomans really did change our history. It is embbeded in the Armenian memory. Armenians killed Turkish solders is different than Turks getting innocent civilians out of their homes to march towards their deaths. That's different than the ASALA killing the diplomats. It was for revenge. Nothing will make up for the more than million Armenians who were killed by ottomans. You can't compare some Armenians fedais killing Turkish soldiers for freedom to a genocide Turks comited to wipe out Christian. And don't forget that Ottomans also killed several hundred thousand Greeks and Assyrian Christians. Ottomans wanted to wipe out Christians, just like ISIS is trying to wipe out Christians today, in the name of Allah. The Young turks were murderers.

You also know that Armenians killed the Turkish innocent citizens as well, right! It wasn't one sided. Lot's of people died during those days for no reason. Millions of people had to move from their lands. I'll give you real history lesson. My mum's parents came from Georgia to Turkey to survive. They had to move, because they could die easily over there because of their identity.. The story is similar in my dad's side as well. They had to move from Macedonia to Turkey when the Ottoman collapsed and there are millions of peoples' history like that in Turkey. So do you think it was easy for them? Shortly, I understand Armenian's sorrow.. Please you do the same thing for Turks.. Otherwise there won't be any winner on this historic fight..

I heard about the Turkish death before, but details and how they died and how it influenced each side is a different story. The only thing about Turkish death argument against genocide is that it is pure excuse. Its like comparing apples with oranges. As you can see Turkey is doing just fine, but Armenia is a land locked nation with Mt. Ararat ( our national symbol ) lies in the Araratian planes on the Turkish side of the border. This has a long history behind it. Before I start with the genocide let me add what happened before genocide that paved the way for Ottoman to begin killing Armenians and other Christians in their subjugated territories: Have you heard about the HAMIDIAN MASSECAR? it took place 19 years before Armenian genocide began in 1896. Several hundred thousand innocent Armenians who wanted reform were killed by Ottomans. I think Georgians and Armenians have a lot in common. We share common history and we are one of the three ancient cultures of the caucases way before the name Turkish came to existence. Now why Turks have to understand us not the other way. And unfortunately many of them don't. You asking me to understand Turks is like asking me to sacrifice even more than the immense tragedy Turks caused us which ended in our whole population to decrease suddenly. The genocide was not just a crime of killing, it was accumulation of many crimes, from rape and torture to slaughter and leaving the dead or living without dignity. The Turkish government denies it not because both sides suffered equally, which is not true, but they deny because of arrogance and nationalism and economic and political reasons. I am sure Georgians having issues with Russians and even Turks, don't have reasons to understand Russians just as we don't understanding Turks. And both Ottoman and Russia did negatively influence both Armenia and Turkey. The genocide affects Armenians until this day. Turkey is terrified of the word genocide because the Turkish government knows it did take place. And movies like this under-minds the whole history which swipes the truth under the rug. Georgians had to deal with Russia and Armenians had to deal with Turks more. Today both have their issues with these big countries that came from nothing. Of course Turks died in that war, but genocide is a totally different way of dying than fighting. Armenians are in diaspora mainly because of that war. That's a major change. A major part of eastern Turkey was once native home to Armenian natives and other Christians. The Turks not only commited genocide, they also denied it and also tried to destroy our history. There used to be churches everywhere in eastern Turkey and Ararat Planes, but now they are in ruins and can't even be identified. For decades Armenians in eastern Turkey who survived the genocide were hiding as Turks. They assimilated into Kurdish populations and some even call themselves Turks. There is nothing to understand about the Turkish government. However, I can understand the Turkish people who were raised and taught to accept lies and deny. Armenians lost much more than anyone else in the struggle against Turks. They lost a lot of land, more than half of their total population in WWI, and they had to escape to other nations to survive. And we did. But, Turkey instead enjoys political advantages that being part of NATO has offered them. And thank you for your polite and respectful argumentation. I understand your point of view but that understanding is not going to erase history and making it go away.

Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies And the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side Here in this country of ours. The first look at #theWaterDiviner gave me the goosebumps, it looks EPIC! Not that I expected anything less, but this is just... "wow"! Starting from the moment I heard about the plans of this movie, been keeping an eye on it (as a big RC fan AND as a Turkish citizen with particular interest in our history) so it's been like witnessing the birth of tWD, if I may so. Now, even this sneak peek has brought me to tears, totally love and respect the director's perspective on this tale. So glad and proud to be a Russell Crowe fan, and simply cannot wait to see what promises to be a brilliant production of a touching story which will touch the hearts of millions!

My great grandfather was an Anzac.I hope Crowe does justice to him and everyone who served on the peninsula.I don't blame or hate the Turks for what they did ,in fact i admire and honour them to for only doing the right thing - defending their land.Attar Turk i tip my hat to you, amongst all your countrymen, and mine as well . The true war manic and the person i hate with a passion is that Churchill , who regarded our soldiers as fodder. His attitude towards Australia was proven years later, when he basically wanted our troops fighting the germans in WW2 while the Japanese were on our doorstep intent on invasion. The biggest war criminal who ever lived, and the man who single handedly sent thousands to their death while smugly smoking cigars. The word bastard is owned by him !

Kimberly Hall Hi Kimberly. Obviously, you are also an admirer of Russell Crowe. (I hate the word « fan »). One of my favorite movies is A GOOD YEAR. For years now, I have tried to reach some studio people to get this particular movie on Blu-ray, without any success. One representative told me that '' it is not in our future plans to release the film on in HD '' .If possible, give me your feedback on this. I was thinking of creating a petition to get A GOOD YEAR finally (after 8 years) to be released on Blu-ray. By the way, in 2002, my wife and I were in Provence (South of France) in the very area where the movie was shot. And everytime I see it, I just want to go back. That was the best travel experience ever for me. Regards. Daniel Martel. Quebec. Canada.

I know where you come from, trust me. You want to see the epicness of this movie rather than the dark side of turkish history that simultaneously happened as the killing of the innocent Christians miles away. I guess turkey's investments on denial did pay off for now, but not so fast. Not only ottomans killed more than 2.5 million Christian Armenians, Greeks, and Assyrians at the same time as this battle, but also they have been keeping silent about it for years and when they began opening their mouths they lied and lied and lied. turkey is submerged in big sea of lies and denial and has to answer for it. This movie is for stupid people who will assume based on one battle that the ottomans were brave and honorable. The truth was they were cowards and killed and raped and plundered the innocent Christians. The big picture was otherwise. Elimination of Christians from the land was the dirty agenda of the evil young turks.

OK you know International Institute of Social History; it is an archive on social history and an independent scientific Institute founded in 1935. Read "Turkey. A Modern History" by Erik-Jan Zürcher if you somehow manage to spare your precious time, he was the head of the institute for 15 years. It is one of the most objective approaches you can find for Turkish history. There, apart from everything else (including Genocide claims of Armenians), you would see that the events in gallipoli war was not really that different from what you see in the film. So, instead of ranting on saying things like "I am oh so so angry, cannot write, so angry, cannot see, crap this is, ohh very angry, Greeks and Armenians are the victims always, Turks are always the oppressors always, ohh angry", get out of your high school history books and make real research for once in your incredibly valuable life. In World War I, "The Gallipoli Campaign", was an awful and notable failed offensive by the Allies, and took place on the Gallipoli peninsula for eight months from 25 April 1915. Gallipoli derives its name from the Greek word "Καλλίπολις" (Kallipolis), meaning "Beautiful City", and where the Anzac Legend began. "Anzac Day" every 25th of April, commemorates the date of that military landing at Gallipoli, and remains the most significant day for Australian and New Zealand commemoration of our military casualties and our veterans from all wars. It is a great movie. And I give this movie a 9 because of the honor and courage it took in telling the story that nobody else dares to tell, because of fear from reprisals from the Armenian and Greek lobbies. Thanks again Mr. Crowe, you truly are a gladiator! --------------------------------------------------- "Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives... You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side now here in this country of ours... you, the mothers, who sent their sons from faraway countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well." ~ Mustafa Kemal Pasha - Ottoman Commander, Gallipoli. ----------------------------------------------------

Does anyone know the music that starts at around 1:57? You can really hear it uninterrupted starting at 2:36. And is the piece at 3:20 the same one? I know that (if they are different) one of them is by Thomas J. Bergersen so I know it's from Two Steps From Hell but I don't know the title. Thank you!
