In this week's COLLECTION REVIEW, Christian dives into a royal watch collection - that of the KING himself, Elvis Presley!
Now, if you've been living under a rock and don't know, Elvis is one of the true faces of American Rock and Roll music, and is also potentially the single most impersonated person on planet Earth. That aside, he's also one of the most significant cultural figures of the 20th century, so it's no wonder we're here to talk about his watches.
So what did he own? Well, for starters, here's a classic: his late 1950s or early 1960s Omega Constellation. The fact is, a black gilt dial means even aside from the fact that it belonged to Elvis, it just demonstrated insane taste. Now, for a Rolex that is the opposite of classically designed - the Rolex "King Midas", a bizarre rectangular piece that was, originally, the most expensive Rolex watch ever produced.
From there, we head off to something understated in the form of Elvis' CLASSIC Hamilton Ventura, an early example of product placement at large, but a true legend in its own right with that strange case shape and its funky electronic movement. Now, if you know how we do these videos, you might be wondering where the recommendations for future purchases are. If you are, I suggest you Google Elvis' name because, well, I have some unfortunate news for you...

Can you also look into doing a collection review of Bruce Lee’s watches? I noticed that he’s a very stylish dresser and has at least four different watches.

He had a few more watches than the ones you portrayed. He also had an omega with a diamond encrusted bezel, an accutron astronaut (black dial), an elgin jump hour (square gold case), Corum Buckingham, and a square hamilton )black dial). Also, i though he had a Hamilton pacer instead of the ventura.

I came to watch the video for the E Lord Elgan square tank Elvis watch. Glad you mentioned that it was not in here or I would have wasted my time

He forgot to mention the most important Omega he ever had, the one he used from 1961 ro 1963 and that is the Omega which just sold (May 12, 2018), at a Phillips auction in Geneva, for US$1.8 million, the most that has ever been paid for an Omega watch.

When a video is just uploaded, it usually isn't in hd because the process is still going. HD usually is ready a few minutes after

Great profile of Elvis' watches. He was a true showman with immense talent, but lacked effective business skills and was robbed and mismanaged by his crooked manager Tom Parker. The Omega was probably one of Elvis' best choices in life. Very interesting and entertaining analysis. That said, I'm not quite getting the Milenial fad relating to the use of the verb "give." The present tense of this verb is "give," and the past tense is "gave" not "gifted." There is no such word as "gifted" in correct English usage. The gramaticly correct third person singular form of the transitive irregular verb "to give" would be "Elvis gave..."

I'm going to have me a Ventura one day. So damn expensive though! Hopefully all the Elvis fans will dye off soon enough and I'll be able to pick one up in an estate sale.
