Let's point out everything you were doing wrong. 1: You spent way too much time in the air, which is harder to move around in, and is also where the most unpredictable attack happens. 2: You spent way too much time near the walls when their attacks easily wipe the walls off. Your best position is in the centre as that gives you space to dodge the attacks. 3: You don't pay attention to the other knight while wailing on the one in front of you. 4: You somehow didn't realise that your character can jump over the knights while they're rolling if you maximise the jump (Which is extra funny given how you need the monarch wings in order to get to this boss), and kept relying on the mantis claw. Also this is counterintuitive, but they're actually easier to dodge if you're near them. Naturally you can avoid their swing by backing up, the flat roll requires them to back up before they charge, giving you a window to jump over, and the jump roll is so much more predictable when the arc is thin. Also, your best healing opportunity is after you defeat a knight as one knight is easier to dodge after breaking from a heal. Hollow Knight isn't built around gameplay where you spend most of the time running away. That's where a lot of people get tripped up into thinking that the boss fight is bad, when in reality it's totally fair if you're just bold and not cowering near the walls.

Thanks for all the constructive criticism, I really do appreciate it- I like how instead of just blatantly saying 'skill issue' or 'you're bad', you've given me actual helpful feedback. I personally didn't hate the bossfight, the title is just stated that way for its own individual reason. I also did end up encountering most of the bosses in the game whilst being extremely unready, having rushed to the bosses without even exploring the area first + I sucked when I started playing (like most people), considering I believe I fought this bossfight only a few days in. I'm way further into the game now, but thanks for your criticism/comment :)

I beat then finaly with Shadow cloak it's not that hard just memorize the patern when they stop roling

I find spell builds to be the best against watcher knights since there always so close to each other allowing you to spam desolate dive/descending dark and vengeful spirit (also on the top of the room right before watcher knights is a secret room that allows you to kill one of the watcher knights making it shorter)

It’s just the mantis lords without the beautiful choreography

For anyone else doing this fight (or creepy redoing thia fight) theres a secret room that lets you cut a rope & drop a chandelier. This kills 1 of the knights

You can break a hole in the wall to drop a chandelier, then you have one less violent dodgeball to deal with. Also Dreamwielder.

i've found that a majority of people hate the Watcher Knights, but i have never understood why? I love this fight so much, i would even call it my literal favourite (right next to Pure Vessel) . Especially (minor spoilers) with the two mask damage in godhome to make it a little harder.

@@M3TH0DICAL That's pretty funny, because i went through the Mantis Lords fight pretty quickly, but struggled a fair amount in the Watcher Knights. I guess that's to show how different other peoples skillsets are. I fought all six tho, didn't notice you could break the chandelier. Also glad to meet another Pure Vessel enjoyer

I think it’s mostly because of the camera not showing the entire arena. You can’t always react to an attack you can’t even see.

@@zigsynx5364 Well yes, you can't see the attacks coming, but you can HEAR them. You will also know wich attack it is depending if you hear a thump at the start or not. To me that gives you a really fair amount of time to react.

Just a quick tip I bet you wish you knew, above the entrance to the knights, there’s a hidden room revealing a rope to a chandelier. If you break the rope it kills one of the knights and you only have to fight 5 instead of 6.

Oh boy prepare yourself for this fight on radiant mode

Dude fought these guys without Shade cloak, Shade Soul or Descending Dark, AND without the chandelier trick. No wonder they were hard for you

Shadow dash is very op in this fight. Without it you just have one knight rolling at you, the other one jumping at you, and unless you can pull off a god gamer move of dashing exactly between them you are going to get hit

If you make the chandelier fall down you will have 5 instead of 6 watcher knights to fight

I got stuck here. What is meta?

This was clean fight, its cool to see fight against it but fighting against it is nightmare, this boss alos made me rage quit 2 times. It turns out I was wayyyy to early in game to take it down XD (I skipped duble jump and other importatnt stuff).

@@vino7985 normal version took me 3 tries and im almost maxed out so idk. Maybe flucknest with Sharan stone and dream Sword wielder its op combo but not on evry boss

The only time I have trouble with Watcher knights is in Godhome on radiant difficulty. Other than that I usually use the speed runner tech and skip monarch wings entirely for that part.
