I saw Eruca Sativa open for The Warning at the Showcenter Complex in Monterrey. Great show!

Brenda and Gabriel were in a jazz band before they joined Lula and made Eruca Sativa. It definitely shows in their improv abilities.

This tour was the first time The Warning had done a dedicated tour. What makes this special, is that you have a veteran band not only recognizing young talent, but treating them as peers. This was Eruca Sativa telling TW "you belong here. This is what you need to be doing. You are on the right path".

I love this because you actually hear Dany shred.

There are videos of Dany singing Fuera o Mas Alla with Eruca Sativa and she slays it.

Hey Zack! All three members of Eruca Sativa are amazing musicians. The ladies in The Warning look up to them as musicians and close friends, and Gabi (Drums), Brenda, (Bass) and Lula (Guitar) treat DPA as family. And yes, Anyone who thinks Dany can't play lead, she says, "Hold my Takis"!

What a cool surprise for Dany while The Warning were on tour with Eruca Sativa. Early on, the girls said, "One day we want to be just like Eruca Sativa." Now Eruca Sativa wants to be like The Warning! Fun fact, The drummers wife is Dany's vocal coach.

I've only seen one other bass player use drumsticks to play bass with, and that's Tony Levin, who developed his approach (and the resulting "stick fingers") while working with Peter Gabriel.

That is a great one, I just wish the audio was better.

The biggest band that came out of Argentina was Soda Stereo they were also a three piece. Sadly the lead singer passed away.

The full band collaboration all 6 on stage with Pau out front doing Brutal- Olivia Rodrigo cover is a good one to.

Eruca Sativa took them on tour back in 2019(?). The Warning was their opener. The bands have been friends ever since and when touring schedules allow they still spend time together at each others homes. I don't know if you noticed but Brenda plays a 5 string and Ale spent some time with her going through bass riffs. Brenda has done solos with the bass just like it was a lead guitar. She is a bass player that Ale respects. Pau also has said that Gabriel is an inspiration for her.

The two bands love each other. In an interview Ale said Brenda was one of her favorite bass players. Much respect between the bands. They all said it was one of their fave tours. There's also a travel vlog of the two bands behind the scenes.

The Warning toured with them in Mexico in 2018 and in Argentina in 2019.

Ale still looks up to her. I know a recent interview she said Brenda was still a major influence.

My recommendation is to listen to Eruca Sativa’s official music Video of Fuera o mas Alla and then watch the version of the same song in Mexico in the last year ( Monterrey I think) where Dany Joins them on stage for the vocals.

Check out "Faith Benson and Paulina Villarreal Drum duo". Its the closest to what you've asked, I guess. 🙂🤟

Great reaction Zack! More Eruca Sativa? Try Eruca Sativa - Fuera o Más Allá (feat. Dany - The Warning). Dany on vocals on this one and she is fantastic! I think the best video of this is on Erick Alderete's channel. There is also a video of them all on stage with Pau out front singing "Brutal", but it's hard to hear Pau. If you want to just listen to Eruca Sativa, try "El Genia De La Nada" or "Magoo" . Thanks Zack!

I think you can see the back of Ale's head in the bottom left of the screen when Dany is soloing, but more clearly during -- surprise, surprise -- the bass solo, which she's recording on her phone.

That was the only thing that came to mind when he asked about Pau cutting loose on the drums.

Dany has said the band is not a solo. she plays what is needed. if you want to see a blindfolded drummer check out Freeze The Fall's OMV Daughters of Witches. he is blind folded and real cold breath, shot in a cold barn in B.C. Canada in Dec 23

This is pretty cool. How cool for Dany. Anyway, you said you'd never heard a Rock version of Elenor Rigby. There is a group called "Godhead" that does a pretty heavy version. You should check that out.

You can always put DPA on the spot. They just show up every time.

She was there. She and Pau went to get a drink or go to the restroom and almost missed it. You can see Pau walk up in the middle of it. Although, she was only 13 at the time, and Pau was 16. Dany was the only one old enough to drink

The members of Eruca Sativa and The Warning are good friends off-stage. There are videos of the two bands hanging out in the Villareal home, eating dinner and also out at a couple of restaurants in Monterrey. Does anyone know how they became friends was it just when they went on tour or did they know them personally before that?

As far as playing bass with a drumstick, why not? I once saw someone do a guitar solo using a cowboy boot to play the strings. Ted Nugent used to play solos with his tongue back in the day. Anything can be some good, light-hearted fun.

I think Elenor left the building shortly after the song started, but it's pretty cool. I think you mentioned before, but there really isn't anything just in a jam mode like this with DPA. There is however an experimental album that they did with someone, ( I'll need help explaining, someone will know.) It's not rock, it's experimental noise music. I listened to tons of atonal experimental stuff in the 80s & 90s. It's for certain moods, definitely. For once I'd recommend not doing a reaction as such, if you should find it. But this thing is cool, with Dany just taking over for a few minutes. (That album is on bandcamp and not under The Warning. I can find a link for you.)

When playing TW's repertoire, Dany does not solo at all. Whenever she appears to be doing a solo, it's performed note for note the same every time they perform the song, so I call them "guitar breaks," not solos. I always knew she could shred if she wanted to. It's just not TW's "thing." They aren't trying to be Cream or Led Zeppelin. That's not TW's approach to their music. They aren't out to impress other musicians or the kind of who go to concerts hoping to hear shredding or drum solos.
