Yeah, this is one of their trickier lyrics to interpret properly, because there are two different viewpoints, but wow, it makes it so deep, lyric meaning-wise. Quite a challenge to take on for a first listen like this!! :)

They are three wholesome, humble, kind, respectful, Catholic church attending, family oriented, intelligent, hard working, disciplined sisters who are proud of their country, love their parents, team, fans, life, each other and music.

The Warning are 3 sisters from Monterrey, Mexico, currently ages 24, 22 and 19 and have been performing as a band for 10 years. They write meaningful lyrics, often about the problems they see with today's world. Isn't that what ROCK is meant to do?? I believe they are non-political but rather on the side of honesty and making the world a better place by respecting and helping each other. I am old enough to remember the 60's and all the crazy stuff that happened in that decade. The Warning has become my all time favorite band and I have seen them live 4 times. Their sound is infectious.

You need a new perspective…. They are singing about the people who are ‘Disciples’ to social media and don’t think on their own. They could care less about the utterly ridiculous state of right wing/left wing politics of our great United States of America… I think they might be singing about you. Evolve!

On the genius lyrics website, you can read this note from drummer Paulina: So Disciple is about social media and how opinions are bought on social media and are fed to us in a way that we don’t even know. And how by breeding ignorance and cultivating hate people gain a lot of power and money. So that’s what Disciple is about. I saw a lot of people confused with the video, like “why are you the system and you’re telling people to kill the system?”, well we’re not the system, we (the military characters in the music video) are someone who is buying your opinion without you even knowing about it. So Disciple was a whole process to write about, but I’m so happy with the song and it’s a topic I’m really passionate about, so go stream Disciple, go check it out, the video was so much fun to record and it’s a good song, it’s so much fun to play, I find it really funny that I’m saying that it’s a good song, it’s my song, but it was really one of my favorite songs to write, I put a lot of thought into it and Daniella and I worked relentlessly to get everything across, so glad people are enjoying it. - Paulina Villarreal

The Warning sings about the dangers of social media, internet worship, and mindless kids who can't think for them selves (Kool Aid Kids). When they were criticized in Mexico for singing in English, Pau (the drummer) wrote a song (Narcissista) that ripped her critics a new one. Check out their song XXI Century Blood which warns of the dangers of walking through life blindfolded. They were 17, 14 and 12 when they did it. Live is their Superpower. Anything live from Teatro Metropolitan, the Lunario, Foro DiDi. and the Whiskey a GoGo is amazing.

They do have an army behind them. Their fans are called The Warning Army. All the other people in the video are Warning Army members who gave their time to help make the video. Also, they are from Mexico. They do not ever talk about US politics.

It just so happens that *The Warning* do have an army behind them, and oddly enough, we're called *The Warning Army,* or *TWA!!!* Their fans are from all over the World, from all walks of life, male, female, young and old, and all with a wide range of beliefs. So we kind of have an unwritten rule to keep our Politics out of this fun little adventure that's building behind this Phenomenal Band. The Sisters are basically observers who write about anything and everything that happens to be relevant to them at any given moment, and they write their lyrics in a way that leaves plenty of room for interpretation by the listener. Every song they've put out so far is good, and you never know which ones are going to strike a chord. As others will attest, Live is where this Band really shines, and any song from the 2022 Teatro Metropolitan CDMX (Mexico City) concert is well worth watching to get a good feel for just how Bad Ass these young Ladies have become since starting out 10 years ago as little Kids. And as you just saw, their Official Music Videos are always great as well. So enjoy the ride my friend, and as the saying goes... *You Have Been Warned!!!*

No politics here mate, just a great song. Warning people to be wary of being sucked into social media and believing everything they see and hear. A song, just to have your own opinions and mind to make informed decisions. This is a great band of 3 sisters from Mexico who ROCK ! They have been around for 10 years so don't let their tender years fool you. They are best live with great stage presence, energy, enthusiasm, and passion. You have been warned !!🤟

This specifically is about not believing everything you watch at the screen as your “source of truth” because at the end you become a disciple of a system you can’t even realize you’re part of.

Totally appreciate your interest in this band, but personally you will lose my attention if you delve into "sides" and write about the "left & right" of politics, because one of the biggest problems in the world today is that of choosing sides as opposed to engaging in objective discourse. I first discovered The Warning less than a year ago and knew there was something special about these sisters. As I watched more of their videos and interacted with other fans, I learned that they were known for their poise, politeness, intelligence, humility, and graciousness. They are wise beyond their years. They have a song about AI wanting to "Evolve" and "Narcisista" is a message to people that criticized them for singing in English (this song is in Spanish), some will say that "Money" is about the business side of music and "Breathe" is an outpouring of emotion over a lost friend. They are a great live band so please watch any song from the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert and just enjoy the music. Then if I May be so bold as to suggest you watch their XXI Century Blood and Kool Aid Kids, these songs have deep meaning. "They could get an army behind them" you say, we are the army behind them, we are The Warning Army. Thank you for reacting to their video.

It is strange that in today’s society the counter culture has become the mainstream, and in order to be a dissident you need to be more traditional. As for this band, and their politics they prefer to stay above the fray as it were. They do not shy away from asking questions, but never cross the line into providing answers. They want people to find answers for themselves. The ladies show us by their actions what temperament they have. They work hard, are always kind to others and never have a bad word to say about anyone. They take their role as public figures to heart, and try to avoid doing things that may be seen as negative or not helpful. They are truly uplifting women. Call that whatever you want, left, right or center it is more important to watch what they do. It is also helpful to keep in mind that being from Mexico, their life experiences will not imprint directly upon everyone else’s. The ladies often remark on how important it is to them to allow for other people to interpret their lyrics, so feel free to have at their catalogue in whatever fashion you see fit. 🤘🏻🤟🏻

The "Kill the system ..." line is the AI speaking through the screen, trying to incite hate to the one staring at the screen - the disciple. In fact, the song reminds us not to fall for such a narrative but better have a look at it yourself and have an opinion of your own. Not all politics is as polarised as it appears to be in the US.

Stick with them and try to pick a live or on-stage performance when you can -- you will not regret it! Personally, I can not find a bad song in their entire discography! When you look into their beginnings (videos available on youtube), you are going to find an absolutely wholesome and endearing back-story. The best new band for at least 20 years.

A distinct message of this band going all the way back to XXI Century Blood written by Pau at 14 and to which Z and Disciple are really direct heirs to is questioning the motivations of the powers behind Social and Corporate Media and we as people react. The algorithms that promote anger and division for clicks which is where the money is. They have never commented on US Politics, I have seen a couple times interviewers try it, but they are extremely good at making such questions look a bit silly. They spent an album on a young lady's descent from innocent crush to psychopathic killer who enjoyed the power of death she wielded before realizing what she had become and committing suicide. Other things they have explored are AI, spousal abuse, addiction, gaslighting as well as the downside of being a live performance band for nearly eleven years while youngest is still a teenager. They gave up a lot for their music, but equally acknowledge they love what they do and their fans who have supported along the way.

They're not political, even though that is a typical punk lyric, "kill the system, kill the man, strip the power from their hands." Their lyrics often make you think and are open to interpretation. One other thing to note about the "drones" - this was filmed during the height of Covid, so the masks are more for health reasons than to appear like Antifa SJWs. That said, your interpretation is just as valid as a lot of other interpretations, and that's part of the fun of listening to The Warning.

i remember when i found this band 2 yrs ago.. this was the second song i listened to and had a similar mindset as you. i did later find out this song is about social media and people being brainwashed by their devices. this band quickly became my new fav band!!!! they arent necessarily political but they do talk about societal issues. the warning IS the best new rock band of this generation. im willing to bet that the more go down the rabbit hole, they will probably become your new fav band as well! welcome to the warning army/family!!!! Their fans are actually called THE WARNING ARMY!!!

The lyrical commentary was "interesting" but I found it to be distracting from the essence of THE WARNING, who embodies pure rock without the bullshit. This is the greatest rock band in history. Referring to them as "three, really-hot girls" is demeaning and completely off-base. I've watched hundreds of reaction videos about them and NOBODY has ever reduced them to objects of desire before. These girls are not selling sex. THE WARNING IS ROCK!

I've come to figure out and learn that, when I notice that reactors' videos are three or four times longer than the song to which they're reacting before I watch them, it's a pretty good indicator that they've paused the video ad nauseum, and most likely went on a lengthy rambling making some really stupid, absurd statements, made ignorant assumptions, and drawn baseless conclusions. The Villarreal sisters are: Daniela "Dany" 24 (Guitar/Lead Vox/Backing Vox) Paulina "Pau" 22 (Drums/backing vox/lead vox/queen of the murder scream (heard in their song Evolve) Alejandra "Ale" 19 (Bass/backing vox) This song is all about the obsession with social media and those that influence people in unhealthy controlling ways. When Pau takes lead vox on verse 2, she has become the drone repeating in first person what Dany sings as the first person. They really nailed exactly how millions of people can't ditch social media, and how they just do whatever they are told with no thought of consequences ("swimming with the fish 'til we drown" is the prime example of that). When you really digest what they sing about it is really scary because obsession can turn into madness/psychosis. The Warning are in Gen Z (even have a song called Z you should check out), and several songs they write about relate to how they are seeing what the world is becoming. XXI Century Blood (title track) from their first LP demonstrates this perfectly point of view exactly.

They’ve grown up on the internet. I’ve followed their social media and seen it all. Every stray thought. They’ve benefited from good parenting. They are strong women with principles. Defining that as “conservative values” is an insult to most people. What they’ve said is, “We’re Mexican don’t try to make us something we’re not.” You’re filtering them through your “conservative American” filter. That is exactly what you did.

I’m happy you appreciated their musicianship and the song. However, given that they’re Mexican, it would be wrong to interpret their lyrics as being political from an American point of view. It is a statement about those who profit from spreading hate and misinformation on social media and the internet, regardless of what end of the “political spectrum” they represent. The “minions” in the video are all wearing masks because it was filmed during the pandemic, which even prompted some people to believe it had to do with the requirement to wear masks (it didn’t). They are a great live band and your wife was correct that their live performance videos are even better. Suggest their performance at the recent MTV VMAs, or the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX. 😎👍

These ladies are incapable of writing a bad song. Watch the entire concert from Teatro Metropolitan from August of 2022. Choke is the video I saw 15 months ago that spiralled me into The Warning rabbit hole. There are so many of their songs that take the listener on a musical and lyrical super rollercoaster ride, with slow build ups, pauses, then extreme pounding cords and bass lines. The Warning is a once in a generation phenomenon. I flew down from Portland Oregon with my daughter to see them live over 3 months ago in Tijuana where they started with Disciple. Ale’s bass kicked me in the chest and knocked me over, then Pau beat me over the head with her drums and then Dany finished me off by slaying me with her guitar and vocals. Once you go down The Warning rabbit hole there's no way out, like Black Holes (which is one of my favorite songs of theirs). Warning: you will be innundated by The Warning Army!

The inspiration for Disciple is along the lines of don’t become a disciple of those who misinform and lie..primarily commentary about the scourge of social media…nothing at all to do with political views, left or right. A couple of suggestions going forward: 1- Try not to interpret lyrical meaning every 5-10 seconds. This only leads to wild misinterpretation. We’ve seen a few other reactors do this and not only do they not get what the song is about, it’s really difficult to watch. 2 - Don’t look at these video through tainted political lenses assuming that this video is trying to take “sides”. At least with TW, that is most definitely not the case. TW raise concerns about society and the challenges facing the Gen Z generation they’re a part of. Their songs are not preachy, political or defeatist. Rather they look to get people to think and generally in an uplifting way. I have one suggestion that you will like: “Hell you Call a Dream” official live from the Pepsi Center in Mexico. It’s phenomenal and was just dropped in March. It’s about the challenges and joys of touring on the road.

But not all of it; that’s too narrow a perspective for this and all the songs I’ve heard from TW. Their “side” if you will is on the side of the individual: for people to think on their own and to not let others’ thinking mislead them. It was the sides-taking comments that was the main concern. Even if we were to agree that much of the misleading stuff comes from governments, TW is not taking any sides - they’re just saying don’t believe everything blindly…and yes, we can all agree that there is way too much screen time. If you go forward with this band, some examples of their songs and what influenced them: Evolve - genetic engineering; Animosity - bad friends; Error - AI; Z and Kool-Aid Kids - groupthink; Choke - getting lost in your feelings; Sick - not living life to the fullest. Appreciate the give and take. Now, let’s enjoy their great music. You really need to check out Hell You Call a Dream.
