The Warmest Whitetail COLD WEATHER GEAR EVER!!!

Ойын-сауық

In this week's Gear or Gadget, we are bringing our experiences with different products to the table to do a hybrid style product review. We are calling this segment "Gear or Gadget." Today in the studio we have Josh Teulker from ‪@thehuntingbeast‬!
We will be determining whether we think this piece of hunting equipment is gear, and we would buy it again or is it a gadget and money can be better spent somewhere else.
There are a couple of ground rules:
#1 We are not here to brand bash anyone. We are simply here to give honest reviews on products we have used.
#2 NO USEAGE OF THE TERM "GAME CHANGER". The game has not changed, and will not change from a single product.
In this episode, we talk about the Sitka Fanatic bibs that Chad and Cameron Run for their cold weather gear, a handy pair of hip waders that josh uses for swamp hunting and scouting, and everyone's favorite cellular trail camera. This is one you won't want to miss!

If anyone is interested in those Dans boots, that material is briar proof, waterproof, and windproof. They make coats and jackets also, even in kids sizes. Got my sons winter coat from them.

Dans frog legs getting some love! Those are the ones I use. I train coon and squirrel dogs on my channel and 100% agree with Josh. Great for shed hunting, scouting, and everything outdoors.

I dont like rubber boots either, but I have to wear them. I have 4 years on lacrosse alphaburys. And I am impressed with what I've put them through and they still don't leak, hundreds of miles on foot, many hours kneeling down with the toes bent, all through hunting season all through ice fishing season then spring time steelhead fishing. They get put up for June and that's about it. I do hate that your feet don't breathe properly with them though.

I have the fanatic bibs and went out in 18 degrees temp with high winds and only had the Sitka apex pants and 250 gsm merino wool baselayer on and after two hours I could feel the cold coming in on my legs at the top of my boots on up to about my hips. The insulation on the legs is not there. If I had of had some warmer pants on underneath them I probably would’ve been fine.

I love a cell camera I run 36 of them year round..and if I have any advice don’t stick your camera down at a low angle unless you don’t have a choice. Like the buck in my picture it’s a 30x20 thick brush/small trees in the middle of a 19 acre hay field but there is a second little patch about 50 yards north of this scrape with is his that’s a community scrap and come and stays back and checks the other one when we have a wind out of the north. But I have no choice in putting the camera up higher most all my other setups are 9-10 ft high. But 1000% a cell camera is a keep tool to my success every year I’ve owned many different kinds sense they first come out and for my area I use Verizon services for my unlimited plan and it’s cheaper then you think heck I’ve got 10 cheap stealthcam I got on sell for $70 each and and I pay $30 a month for all 10. And it’s unlimited pictures. So you don’t gotta spend tons of money. If you feed corn in daytime and night you can see hey it didn’t feed or if u hand feed if that’s your thing you can see hey I don’t have any corn or whatever u use. But all in all if your in the fence they are worth it.

100% merino wool base layer is a must. Polyester is the worse thing to wear next to skin.

Fieldsheer heated merino baselayer As for camo gear. I've researched and priced almost every brand out there. Most bang for your buck is huntworth. Poor man's sitka as I like to call it. Their new stuff with the heat boost is where it's at.

I like my cameras but from a reg guy prospective , they will drive you to hunt cameras and it's easy to hyper focus only on cam locations , I'm trying to put em out for pattern purposes and not for specific buck or doe data

I use mine on scraps and on buck scraps only I never run a community scrap. His scrap will always be down wind of it and it’s normally pretty small I’ve had them as small as a plate but you will see where he breaks the limbs off.. I stay outta bedding but set them up on trails leaving. But I get what ur saying how someone can hunt from them but one can get super disappointed doing that 😂 cause just when u got him figured out he changes everything. I normally watch year to year because deer are the kings of habit. If he goes somewhere last year at this time next year he will be there

Raven Wear (though it's no longer made as of recent) for stand hunting has no equal - Sitka is not as warm but better for stalking or moving about in general. eBay still has pieces of Raven Wear available for time to time

So I luv the idea of the cell cameras!!! However we are close in the Northeast to having them banned and made illegal. NH already is trying to pass laws against them and the surrounding states have people in the state houses just waiting to follow suit. Things like drones and rangefinding sights are already illegal cell cams are very close behind. Sad to say but it’s gonna be reality!!!

Thx for the info. All day sits late November up here in Canada can be rough. Don’t own these bibs but I doubt they compare to the Heater body suit or any other full containment clothing. Just sayin’

Heater Body Suit is the real deal. I’ve owned one 5 years now and will never hunt the winter without it. So easy to pack in and it keeps you warm on stand all day.

Well.....I must say O have to disagree, you have obviously not got your hands on the new Scemtlok suit......the DIVERGENT.....I promise you that suit has everything that Sitka suit does and more.....change my mind

As hunters we need to start paying attention to what our clothes do to the environment. Synthetic are so bad for the environment. Stick to natural materials. Microplastics and non biodegradable. It will take those bids 200 years to degrade.
