Me 70 years old, totally flabbergasted by this band. Probably the musical revalation of the 2000's. Buy the albums people !!
Rock Lives in this band
I don't wanna wait is an absolute bop
I've been obsessed with 2-chord songs for a while now and I came to realize that most of the songs that draw my interest lately are 2-chord songs like 'I Don't Live Here Anymore'. I think it tells a lot about a band, producer and songwriter that they can elevate a 2-chord harmony to so many different heights, opening up sonic landscapes with a non-stop infectious groove that just makes you feel like you're on a never-ending trip to paradise. You can begin your journey discovering 2-chord songs with 'Dreams' by Fleetwood Mac and 'Horse With No Name' by America. Of course there are hundreds of classic songs with 2 chords but it's always a pleasant surprise when you find new modern bands that can build up on that and expand. The War on Drugs did it perfectly with 'I Don't Live Here Anymore'. If you know more addictive 2-chord songs, please, let me know.
To make this even better, they have an REM Life's Rich Pageant poster in the background 👏
Happy 1 year to this video. Still as great.
All these musicians are incredible. I never get tired of watching Charlie on his drum kit. I hope you guy's win your second best rock album Grammy...you deserve it.

It's more produced and fits more suitably into their ideal genre. But to the cost of their authenticity, their music used to have. I finally accepted that the magic from Lost In the Dream will be something from the past. But the fact that they made an album as perfectly beautiful as that is enough for me. Its sound was universal, unlike their new work which seems to have a clear direction, as if formulated by an algorithm,
That drum sound.. just wow

That bass tone is equally as enviable. It's the best kind of compressed and almost overdriven, but also clear and thick. A+

21’s Top Band, melodic, with a wall of sound! Grammy, again??
This is the same the same exact feeling I had in 1977, when I walked into band class early, and Led Zeppelin IV was on a turntable, and I listened and fell in love with music. It felt like I knew what music was supposed to be. A certain clarity, a certain recognition of beauty. The War on Drugs exemplify sonic existential perfection that escapes my description. Can't explain it, just feel it. Thanks guys.

Awww this song is Heaven, an audiophile’s Paradise!
I could listen to these four songs forever.
I'm new to this band and im blown away, first of all the drummer sounds like a metronome, amazing :) And the second track just hit me like a truck, so beautiful, with heavenly guitarparts that i could listen to repeat for a few hours...in fact...i have been :)
Got goosebumps listening to this! I went to see them live last night in Lisbon, just stunning! Technically perfect, beautiful vocals, just mesmerising! And Charlie was hugely entertaining on the drums... We only went there to see this band, but Adam kept saying "Coming up next, The Strokes!" I wonder if they realised how many people were there just to see them, and didn't really care about who was coming on after their set... Can't wait to see them again somewhere, planning a trip just around it!

I got tickets for this great band. They are the best of the best.
If "in chains" and "eyes to the wind" got together and had a baby...this would be its offspring. Perfectly healthy adorable. Best I've heard them sound ever!
I love the sound of this band. As a musician I have so much respect and admiration for their growth musically as a collective.
I think one of the things I like most about a lot of their songs is they start out basic and slow, build it up and finish with some form high energy. It can be a big finish with a guitar break or a piano outro that brings it all together. Just an awesome band. Glad I get to see them twice this year in my home state of NC.
The rhythm section is so tight in this performance. Charlie is locked in like Charlie Watts, and David's simple yet complex bass lines keep everything moving. A great base for the layers upon layers of sonic goodness on top.
Every track is just so uplifting and Adam's vocals sound better every record!
The production is mind blowing.

Interesting to see the different approaches of same song and location, Tiny Desk so subtle, and this one so powerful, wow, the the close up shot from him everytime he sings "i dont live here anymore.."
Absolutely the best.
I'm usually not loyal to bands, because when you have albums as good as a Deeper Understanding, it's difficult to follow up. They've not only followed it up, but equalled it. I'm in love with this album. Old Skin, Harmonias Dream, Wasted, I'm having love affairs with these songs

Another example of the genius of Adam and the master craftsmen who make up TWOD. The very best in the biz,
After some relistening of these newest songs, I don’t wanna wait is such a gem. Adam is singing more and more out front-I think you heard the vocal leap forward on the previous album, where he really settled in to his vocal style. Now he and the band sound better than ever. Will be my first band to see live in the aftertimes, when they hit New England.
This is music for adults. Don't recommend it for children, they will not understand without tutelage, good stuff!!!! Drummer is a hoot, and the rest of the band who have been there a while getting to rise together is very cool. Deep, thoughtful lyrics and all around very enjoyable listening. Thumbs way up!
Adam and his band are unbelievably great! Quality and emotion. Everyone needs to listen to this. Awesome!!
