The War of the Worlds - a Breakfast in the Ruins Podcast

Ойын-сауық

Allister Thompson, musician and author of The Music of the Spheres, is back in Derry and Toms to talk about the scientific romance and hardcore disco prog phenomenon that is... The War of the Worlds.
We look at our entry points into WOTW fandom, the original 1897 classic by HG Wells, a number of adaptations and spin-offs, and the one adaptation that looms large over all the others (the Jeff Wayne album, obviously).

I really enjoyed this one so listened again. I watched the Liam Neeson stage version recently and as much as i enjoyed it I will always go back to the Richard Burton version as my preference. And in response to branching out or a second channel focusing on uncosy catastrophe/ horror that would be most awesome!

@@breakfastintheruinspodcast I part watched a recent British version yesterday on Freevee with Vincent Reagan and Sam Gittins, very low budget. I'm going to try and finish it today.

I watched it a couple of weeks ago. Allister and I were thinking of doing a commentary on it but... Meh

@@breakfastintheruinspodcast hmm..that's the feeling I was getting whilst watching it, especially scenes with VR. Didn't like the angle they went there.
