Unlike most ghost engines who want revenge and will never learn their lessons after death Afton was different. After his death/disappearance, he learned his lesson and now wonders the line finding engine who mistreat coaches and telling them his story as a warning that karma can come and bite them back. However this will not free him for its part of his punishment. He must wondering down the track like a lost soul. Not looking for vengeance but giving warnings.

...I think the reason Afton gave a smile at the end, was because he passed by Old Iron Edward, who is effectively Sodor's Lorekeeper.

well kacper, you did a great job on doing your adaptation take on the wandering coach story for halloween this year. it's good to see a few specials for halloween this year. Happy Halloween Kacper. 😉🎃

So Afton is pretty much a Flying Dutchman of sorts but on the rail, Cursed to pull that coach every midnight for eternity.

I think this is based on a strangely true story. It happened some time ago somewhere in Northern Europe up in the mountains I think. The story goes that a passenger train had puffed in a tunnel that was build within the mountains. Once inside the train and the coaches disappeared within the tunnel. Apparently there were eather 2 or 3 survivors from the train. Two of them said that once they were in the tunnel smoke or fog or some sort of mist started to crawl through the train. At this this time I think the train was slowly moving. They had no idea what was happening and was scared for there lives and jumped out of the windows of the coaches and ran out of the tunnel where the train entered. The third survivor saw the strange mist as well but was in the last coach. He opened the back door of the coach and jumped off the train also running out of the tunnel. After they escaped the tunnel they turned to look back to see if there was any smoke billowing out from the tunnel but there was nothing. Investigators tried asking people on the other side of the tunnel if they have seen a train pass by and the investigators got the same answer. Nobody has seen a train come out the otherside. They also tried looking inside the tunnel but both the train and the coaches have disappeared. Ever since then they shut down the line in the tunnel and blew it up caving in the tunnel so nobody could enter it. To this day it’s still unexplained on how an entire passenger train could disappear like that. Now people just call it the tunnel to hell.

That will be a great Halloween episode 🎃 that Sir Handel saw a creepy red engine named Afton pulling one coach. Spooky

11:18 Oh, that's bad! Afton crushed that coach like a tin can. Yeesh!

I feel sorry for afton at the end but he did the right thing by telling sir handel to treat coaches with respect or they get even with you.

Awesome Job man! I really enojyed this! sorry I missed half of the premiere lol, but this was a BANGER! Definitely one of the best Wandering Coaches out there!

I guess Edward knew the reason why Afton disappeared the night he got the Midnight Special was because the ghost of the coach Afton crushed wanted to get revenge for the way Afton killed her.

Edward; "so that's what happened to him."

Ummm the coach took Afton’s life in the tunnel with it and that’s how he disappeared when he got in the tunnel and he never made it out😢

And the coach was only after Afton so she teleported his crew to the station leaving them unharmed but keeping Afton for eternity 🛤️

5:12 although there's something I see is not right on Edward's shape and I meant the cab because it wasn't even supposed to look like that because because Edward did not ever look like that in the Railway Series or the TV series and open the model series and CGI series except the original book of the three Railway engines but they just got replaced with new books with that it feels like Edward never ever ever ever ever ever had a original different cap shape actually

That's Edward's old shape. He had a different cab and tender when he worked on the Furness Railway.
