Grateful that Macy’s maintained the organ and continued the tradition
No matter what music is played, classical or contemporary, the sound is always beautiful.
"Nimrod" played to perfection! A wonderful performance!
Hi Nate: Thanks for uploading. Do this more often if you visit with some regularity. For some reason, Wanamakers seldom upload a video for YT, and most of us seldom hear this wonderful instrument. Great job with sound and video.
Beautiful! I remember how moving hearing this organ in person was during Christmas season at Wanamaker's. There was a fountain that "danced" to accompany the music. Magical childhood moment.

First time hearing this beautiful organ on You Tube. WOW!!!!!! Love the sound and in a mall too!!!!!
Hats off to anyone talented and coordinated enough to play such a magnificent instrument.
I used to visit and sit beside Keith Chapman at Lunch Time recitals! OMG!! It was amazing.... RIP Keith.

Back in the day, my parents would visit with Keith too. They were always saying how amazing it was that he could carry on a conversation while simultaneously playing ultra-complex and difficult music perfectly.
My dad, who loved organ music, had a record playing, in one piece, "Pomp and Circumstance"
A National Treasure!!!
Excellent sound pick up. Thanks for the video.
@24:40 (final selection) "Nimrod" from the "Enigma Variations", Opus 86, by Sir Edward Elgar. Incidentally, on a 2001 Wanamaker Organ CD entitled "Magic!" (on the Dorian label), Peter Richard Conte himself recorded "Nimrod" as his closing piece. An interesting parallel with this particular session.

is this Opus 36 or 86? Each time I search on 86, 36 appears

My information booklet for the 2001 Wanamaker Organ CD mentioned above advises "Opus 86" for the Nimrod selection. However, a Wikipedia article advises "Opus 36".... that article provides details about all of Elgar's compositions, and is more convincing, so "Opus 36" is almost certainly correct. I believe there is a later release of the same CD (which I don't have), so hopefully the booklet for that later release includes a correction.
@07:26 "Prelude and Fugue in E Minor" ("Cathedral") by JS Bach (BWV 533). It sounds better here than on anything that I have in my CD Library.
@5:30: “Festive Trumpet Tune,” by David German.
@10:55, “Music of the Night,” “Phantom,” Andrew Lloyd Webber

Love the lush strings and the variety of reed solo stop used. I am very fortunate to live close by Philadelphia, in northeast Maryland, and get to hear this magnificent organ relatively often.
Not bad for a box of whistles.
Do you know who was playing on this day? Great playing and nice selection.

I definitely agree on the playing and the selections. The older "Baroque" pieces and the more modern pieces seem to sequence together well. Mr. Mulder does not overtly indicate that he is the performer? Mr. Mulder apparently compiled "snippets" of daily concerts together (all by the same organist, but not necessarily all from one single daily concert?) and then uploaded them. We don't ever seem to see the organist in a full-forward head-on view. In the last few seconds of the compilation, the camera zooms in on the organist, and in a mostly sideways but still distant view, the organist resembles (to me) Dylan David Shaw, an Associate Wanamaker Organist? who is introduced in other Wanamaker KZreads, such as perhaps a few "Wanamaker Organ Day" videos. Perhaps someone else has a definitive answer. Whoever the organist is, I'd like to see more of his sessions uploaded.
@20:10 (second to last) seems to be the last unidentified selection in this compiled video.....does anyone know the name/title of this particular selection?

@@jeffmike Thanks for identifying this selection...it is aptly named...now knowing the name and composer, I found several other renditions online, but I still prefer this one.
What is the first song??

Memory from the musical Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The space is truly awesome, with such a great die-away.
What is the name of the music at 16:40?

"Chaconne in G Minor" by Louis Couperin (in my CD collection) sounds like a match to me.
