David made a wonderful statement when explaining the continued interest in the show is a tribute to the fans and their values. Probably the best compliment us fans could ever receive. In society today there are so many of us longing for family values and what we might call, the innocent age. The Waltons allow us to relive those times and gives us the hope those values will return one day.

I always sensed an undercurrent of sensitivity in Jim bob. But it really is David's personality. Wow what a special guy. As he closed the episode I felt he truly enjoyed this trip down memory lane. So glad for him and for us because he will hopefully return for more episodes!! BTW I cant get over his passion for history which apparently he had as quite a young guy.

Thank you (both) so very much for doing this. It was so interesting to hear of David's affinity of historical events. I would love to pick his brain on what he knows about the Civil War's Battle of Shiloh (TN), as we have a relative who was ultimately mortally wounded in that conflict, and I know so very little about that battle. If David ever does a podcast on Civil War topics, I hope he lets us know!

Or the one where he's in the army and his girlfriend, played by Jennifer Jason Leigh, tells him she's pregnant. He proposes as the honorable thing to do before big sister Mary Ellen gets a confession from the girlfriend that she's not pregnant, she just wants a home with a family like the Waltons - didn't we all.

Thank you so much for arranging time with David. It was fun to hear his point of view. I'm glad you brought up those special scenes he was in. I'm not sure that he understands how much the fans love him and all the cast. It was those type of scenes which were about everyday events and relationships that we can relate to and why we feel so close to you all. The historic events were a natural part of the show but more important to me was the way of life as it was represented. Just the fact that Grandma and Grandpa lived with them. And since David brought up Beulah Bondi, the way Martha Corinne reminisces about her young life. There just is no other show that does that!

I have always been a History Buff myself. Especially WWII and its Generation. I have often said that is why I always took to the Waltons. Many years ago, when I was maybe 14, my Mom even said I should have been born in the early 1920s. LOL I even think the look of Mary Ellen's 1930s dresses with the white socks is a cute look!

Partly through David’s memories & what you all share with each other to this day, it seems you all had an atmosphere close to what the best camp experiences are & should be. ~Importantly, this is aside from the significant, horrible conditions put on some of you, likely especially upon females, regarding your bodies’ health and image. In other ways, similar to healthy camps and community groups, you had: 1) ways to express & support your talents & interests; 2) caring adults who helped create those conditions & included the kids as vital community members not as subordinates ~except, one would want, where age appropriate; 3) regular access to the outdoors & play (including “work play”, of course -under supervised conditions & standards of protections); 4) hopefully transparent rules & responsibilities for all adults & children, with avenues to appeal for change & redress. The poster who wrote of wanting values to return… I think like good healing camps for kids with various challenges &/or interests and any community groups who uphold similar conditions, everyone benefits from supportive communities added to one’s family. We have ongoing options to create these and their impact - if done right - fosters added family connections & care for decades. Thanks for all of your Sharing ~ of your bonds and reflections that still nurture more good feelings & acts! 🌱 🪺

Hi, Judy! Thank you for sharing another segment of your visit with David. It's always nice to see you have the chance to interact with your fellow cast/family members. As a side note, imagine my surprise when I turned on Netflix the other night to watch that series, "Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story", only to find that MICHAEL LEARNED was playing Jeffrey's grandmother!! I had to do a double take when I first saw her!! She was brilliant, as usual, in the role she played, but I just wanted to bring that up. I was thrilled to watch her on screen, again, but I have to say, I was taken aback by "Jeffrey" yelling at her and cursing at her. Don't worry...............I've recovered. lol!!! Again, thank you. :)

"A piece of gum stuck to the bottom of your shoe" is a great analogy! I am so glad that I am able to watch The Waltons on Amazon Prime from start to finish. I was worried that the series might not be as rich and strong without Richard Thomas, but kudos to the writers that they were able to maintain those qualities by giving great story lines to the other supporting family members. I find that I really don't miss "John Boy" much at all. I know that I will be watching the series all over again next year. I'm sure I will gain an even greater appreciation for the series. 🤣🤣🤣 that pink hair and the tattoo aww man you were funny David. Growing up I saw you and kami as my equals but I also have an older brother so he was the mean version of John boy lol yeah man, you're a crack up David and I mean that in the most brotherly way. Wouldn't it be great if American television played all the episodes in 2022. The youth would be amazed, at how little the world had in the way of entertainment and fun. I loved it back then guys. The creeks, the mud, the constant running lol it would be hard for the youth today seeing any fun happening back then lol lol thanks for sharing Judy. Been a blast! Kiwi Fan.

Thanks again David for coming on Judy’s channel. If you ever want to read your fighter pilot fan fix, maybe we could arrange it for Judy to relay it to you. Isn’t Judy’s channel great? That can-do Mary Ellen spirit. 😊

Awesome 3 parter! My favorite was Porthos the guinea pig. Grew up graduating from gerbils to guinea pigs to bunnies and a cat now. Always from rescue groups. Thank you for letting fans hear from David, Jim Bob/James Robert!

I so admire that David lives a simple life in a farming town. I grew up in a rural area and am so glad! I'm right there with David on loving to read and history! Glad to hear that he sounds happy with his life!

Judy, I have really enjoyed these segments with David. He is such a cool, down to earth kind of guy. He is someone I think I would be very comfortable hanging out with.

I had no idea David was as profound, and insightful as he is. Very impressed...! His character was built on mischief and mechanics. I hope Judy, if he comes on again, you'll ask him his thoughts on those character aspects of Jim Bob...

All I can say is ❤. David, I am a big Civil War/WWII buff. I am also a genealogist so it’s amazing to be able to put family along side historical people/events.
