My father's family are all from the area. He used to email back and forth with Mr Hamner, I guess regarding the old days in that area. I've only been to the area a few times and it predates "The Walton's" but if I ever get back, I'd love to see all of this in person. You did an amazing job showing it off. I enjoyed it!

I live here in Virginia & have watched the show for years. Although, the bed & breakfast is a beautiful replica, I've always wanted to tour the real home. If it's now privately owned & unavailable for tour, my fascination to visit is no longer there. It just wouldn't be the same to tour a replica & have to pay to do so. It's really a shame they sold the real home & not keep it all together. The actual home is what peaks a lot of fans interest in visiting.

We ended up walking and talking until we got downtown! He said he was going to watch a movie! I never got his autograph, but we did have a nice chat! He was very nice! I’ll never forget that day!

Back in the 80's, if you stopped in Schyler you stood a good chance of seeing and talking to Earl's mother, Doris. She would be sitting on the porch of her house, and she seemed to love it when folks would stop and chat with her. She was a wealth of knowledge about the town, and the show. A very kind lady with a wonderful personality. Thanks for taking us along. So good to see the family all together. I'm sure you and the RMR were really enjoying your kids all in one place. I just missed seeing the (almost) entire clan in Waco last month! Thank you sharing with us! It was a pony cart. Painted by Martha corrine Walton. The real “Walton house” is Earl Hamner’s childhood home. That’s the last picture I show and is just up the street from the other buildings. The B&B is a recreation of the house from the television show. The museum is across the street from that and is Earl’s old school he graduated from.

I live here in Virginia & have watched the show for years. Although, the bed & breakfast is a beautiful replica, I've always wanted to tour the real home. Back in the 80's, if you stopped in Schyler you stood a good chance of seeing and talking to Earl's mother, Doris. She would be sitting on the porch of her house, and she seemed to love it when folks would stop and chat with her. She was a wealth of knowledge about the town, and the show. A very kind lady with a wonderful personality. Thanks for taking us along. So good to see the family all together. I'm sure you and the RMR were really enjoying your kids all in one place. I just missed seeing the (almost) entire clan in Waco last month! Thank you sharing with us! It was a pony cart. Painted by Martha corrine Walton. (Played by Beulah Bondi who also played Jimmy Stewarts Mom in It's a Wonderful life.) Can you tell I'm a bit of buff of the show? LoL The Walton kids are touring now. I think they are in Tennessee right now.

She was but is very camera shy! The always illusive Ravishing Mrs. Ritter. Occasionally you may catch a reflection in the mirror or a shoulder passing by. Sightings more rare than Bigfoot! LOL!

The owner explained that during the tour. She was full of fun facts she gleaned from having some of the actual actors from the show stay there. Very interesting!

The real “Walton house” is Earl Hamner’s childhood home. That’s the last picture I show and is just up the street from the other buildings. The B&B is a recreation of the house from the television show. The museum is across the street from that and is Earl’s old school he graduated from.
Aunt Martha Corine painted the pony cart.
The recreation doesn't look very authentic. Too tidy and new looking.
