The best interpretation ever heard from the origin of the planet !
What a marvelous piano player. He swings; they all do.
"The" best interpretation never heard since man appeared on earth !

It's a major blues, the minor pentatonic scale with the added tritone along with the chords from the major scale usually with the minor seventh.

@Spanish Moustache He said the original was in major and that this version is in minor, that is wrong. I was explaining why. I don't see what part you are disagreeing with.

Haha, that's true. Consider it our own arrangement.

@RockaBilly Alright! I always hit the minor third as a grace note when I play it, thanks for pointing it out to me! :)
being a musician to me is like being a griot. there is a big difference between one who tells stories ( we can all accomplish this ), and one who takes the story seriously and is able to transfer a direct line to your ancestors. a song is not to be " played" it's to be " told ", and it is spoken to be heard and to be understood. i believe that is the challenge of the true musician. when the ego takes over, the song is a destroyed heap of no relevance. two examples of terrible retellings of traditional stories is e. badu on tiny desk doing " afro blue ". for the sake of being innovative, the song is lost. her retelling might be ok in a vacuum, but if you go the source material and compare, she does not have enough respect for mongo santamaria or coltrane, she is cooler than that and the song becomes a deconstructed pile of ash. annie lenox doing " strange fruit " i also find very offensive. too much production for a song that demands simplicity, the material is filled with enough drama and this becomes another " street cred "song for a famous person fiona apple doing " after i'm gone " is on the opposite spectrum as she seems to honor the past and bring it into the future intact. anywayz, there is my broken philosophical ramblings. simply put, nice work fellas!!!
