I hope he doesn't lose his hand it wouldn't make sense for Aaron to lose his hand and look like rick from the comics.

Well, I hope Rick gets a cool replacement for his missing hand. Like a mini hand cannon or something.

In my mind, the bit of white that shows when Rick is walking to the wall, and then more when he is in stabbing mode, appears to be a bandage. Is it covering a cut or a stump, guess we have to wait and see.

I'm surprised people think losing a hand matters at all. TWD has proven with characters like Merle, Gabriel, Connie & Aaron that losing a hand, being partially blinded or deaf doesn't stop character impact & progression. Aaron was able to easily dispatch of variant walkers with his prosthetic hand. Who honestly cares if Rick loses it or not? Quit worrying and just enjoy TOWL!

He’s the lead. He can’t realistically shoot great with guns, can’t drive a stick, can’t do a lot of things. It’s lazy writing, been done repeatedly, just stupid. It’s far more difficult for Rick to be realistically capable without both hands. Not to mention loss of the hand Gurantees there is no season 2. Andrew nor the writers would want to make the job of the main character and effects guys that difficult. It is going to hurt the story either way. If he flies a helicopter with one hand I’m going to stop watching. Hopefully it’s a troll. They have repeatedly faked stuff like this on the show.

They didn't before because of budget constraints, but now they have a much bigger budget 😀🧟‍♂️

in the 3rd second of this trailer and the same shot in minute 1.41 (Rick with the hatchet) it looks like his left arm is there... also could be before the chop off...

Me personally, I don’t think he’s gonna loose his hand as punishment cause it doesn’t make sense, why cut his hand off and then just throw him back to the culling center, why not beat him, starve him a little, lock him up in a cold room naked and wet, you know like shawshank redemption type shit. I personally think Rick cuts his own hand off and this impresses Major general Beal (don’t know how to spell his name) as what if he has like a wooden leg or something, like he lost it in Vietnam or something like that cause we never see him walking around and he could take a liking to rick’s survival instinct and he can see a use out of it. Also I don’t think he turns Rick into one of those soldiers with the red and black uniform, I think he becomes something like jadis as we can see him in those black clothes, black turtle neck and black coat type look, I think he has a job as some kind of secret police force or something like that for the CRM. Lastly I think having him cut his hand off would be a nice call back to what he made merle do back in season 1, just my opinion.

@@fionahoughton241 well if that was the case then the ordering wouldn’t make sense, we would have to say Rick was taken to the Civic Republic, offered a job as a soldier, worked his way up, did something to piss Beal off, got sent to the culling facility, then he escapes the culling facility, is brought back, hand cut off, then put to work again, since at the end of the original series we see that time he escapes he still has both hands. How ever with my idea it would be he is sent to the culling facility, escapes, then on way back cuts his hand off for some reason, taken back to the culling facility, Beal takes interest in him and offers him a better life, then Rick becomes a soldier.

It's hard to tell the order of scenes from the trailer. I like your theory - the scene where Rick is with the burning walkers is either a dream sequence or real & Rick gets injured, possibly bitten and curs his hand off at this point - nice call back to Merle as you say. The other theory with Beale taking the hand would be a good call back to comic Rick & Governor - can't wait to find out what actually happens! 😂 🧟‍♂️

Rick reminds me of Shawn Michaels & Triple H in Degeneration X back in the 90's when they wore the face shields during a promo back in the day.

Hand or no hand I can't wait. Like I feel like I feel as though The walking Dead story will not be complete until I find out that Rick knows he has a son and him and Michonne. Like I'd like to see him and Morgan reconnect that would bring it around full circle. He found his family!

In the picture of major general bill holding the sword is that a coffin behind him maybe that's where Rick loses his hand and gets demoted zombie killer instead of being a CRM soldier because he got someone 🤔

Gabriel was also very well known to Jadis, as they were lovers and Jadis took Gabriel's last name. As well, Jadis attempted to trade Gabriel for a trip to the CR, but then chose Rick when she saw him injured. Just the last name makes it likely Gabriel will either be in this series or a crossover, if Jadis thinks the settlements from twd are a threat. Consider there were 50k people at the end of twd - and growing much larger, since. A huge threat to the cr/crm.

They didn’t spoil it in this trailer…… they either thought we wouldn’t notice I’m all the teasers they gave us or they were trying to see if we noticed…… u can see in this one that it’s gone definitively….. but u could tell it wasn’t there in a few shots of the last 1-2 teasers sadly😒

Let’s Realllllly hope they don’t start introducing all these new characters and spending time on their backstories. Too much of that happened in the previous spin offs. It should be run time flooded with these 2 that’s it

I’m excited that everything is coming together, although one big question I wanna know is who took the machete from Papa and Alyssa’s grave after Mandy had abandoned it. Could have been Alpha but there was never any confirmation as far as I am aware. Could we see the return of the red machete or Mandy?

From the trailer he looks like he cut his own hand off. There's a scene where he has his hatchet raised up and he looks to be screaming.

I think Rick losing his hand is the only feasible way to explain why he's not escaped the CRM yet

I don't mind if Rick loses his hand now, as it won't stop him being badass and doing what needs to be done - I remember seeing somewhere - this channel or someone else's, the leaked cast list a while ago, and it also listed various props, like Rick's left hand blade prosthetic... It looks like we briefly see a bandaged stump and a hook type prosthetic hand in this trailer. There are a few ways he could lose the hand, but I would put my money on Beale. Time will tell though 😉🧟‍♂️🩸

Yeah he loses a hand. I don't like it but it's in the comics so they probably want to make that connection. I'm excited for this show!

Why dont we see his hand as a crm soldier

wtf are you talking about dude rick being the biggest most popular character and the face of the walking dead franchise , it’s of course a big fucking deal . If not a character like him getting killed off then losing a limb is huge for the character if anything . That changes a lot with how his character has to be able to do things differently without two hands and being a badass . Also his enemies will look at him way less of a threat seing he had one hand .
