Michonne never said that she wanted to destroy the city or innocent people. She even said to Jadis that the people she met in the city would never agree to what the CRM has been doing. I think a lot of people watching are forgetting that the CRM and the city are two seperate entities. They even made a point to say that the CRM has no control over the city. The CRM is the military. The people inside the city are civilians. I get what you're saying about not wiping out the entire CRM but I don't think that's what Rick & Michonne want to do. Most of the military aren't aware of what the CRM are doing to innocent people/cities and both Rick & Michonne know that. I believe when they say that they want to stop the CRM it's more on the level of what Okafor wanted to do. I think they want to expose what's been going on and replace the leadership of the CRM. I also get what you're saying about wanting to see Michonne tell Rick about everything like the Whisperers but it would literally take an entire episode to get into all of that and in my opinion, it brings nothing to this story. I think they used the scar on her back to emphasize to Rick that she's gone through a lot since the bridge. So I'm okay with the Whisperers being discussed off camera. The thing is, people will complain no matter what. If they used a chunk of the episodes to show Richonne discussing all the ups and downs since the bridge, people would complain the time could have been used to give more background on characters like Beale or the actual CRM storyline. I think they did a good job with the time they had going into some of those things. It is hard to imagine how they will close the season with only one episode but if this does end up being a limited series I hope we get a reunion between Richonne and their kids. That along with the Richonne reunion has been the biggest reason fans wanted this series. I personally don't want to wait another season for that.

The CRM is the military, and the CRP are the civilians. Michonne said they are taking out the CRM by informing the CRP because the city would never stand for what the military is doing. She also said they would assist the CRP in taking out the CRM. She never said it was just going to be them. Also, The CRM is about 17k. Only 10 percent of the military know what actually goes on a little less than 2k soldiers. That is the section that is the main target against 200k civilians

Was coming here to comment the same thing. I think a lot of people get the CRM and CRP confused thinking there are 200,000...but the CRM is much smaller and heavily armed. This might be where Silas comes into play, he was trained by Jadis but made it seem in the WB finale that he wanted to help bring down the CRM

They're against the ones mowing down innocent citizens, not innocent citizens in the city. I don't get being on Jadis' side because she kept trying to shoot them. I'm not taking a bullet to the head for someone else's ideals. She kept trying to harm them because she was insisting on her way after forcing Rick to conform for her own benefit. No one suspected Rick and Michonne survived but HER. What's more, they're working on less information, information that *Jadis could have given them if she REALLY wanted them to understand* (and not just obey -- which is the CRM way). Her people want drones. F them. Jadis was determined to take their lives until the walkers got her. Sad for her, but she lost herself and wanted them to be lost too. If life is just doing what others tell you to, that's not living. Rick and Michonne had the sense and practicality to build a community that worked. Who's to say they shouldn't have it because it's not sanctioned? Now that I think about it, thank goodness TWD isn't a Disney property! They'd make Rick and Michonne the villains like they do in most of their media these days (Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Inhumans, and Secret Invasion come to mind).

To try and clear things up with Gabriel & Anne with the timeline during their chats. The first time, they spoke happened after the bridge, the second time they spoke, happened after the whisperer war since they did lose a lot when they fought them. The one year time jump, happened after the main show, when they did that time skip, so they met and last saw each other during that time jump. Which puts this show, closely after the main show’s ending, if not before, but they’re not like years off or anything.

Michonne generally turns out to be right and her directions and guidance for Rick beneficial in the long run, why then do you always go on and on that she is being short sighted and wrong? The fact that you have more empathy for Jadis the villain than Michonne who lost so much because of Jadis is quite interesting.

  • @Quania2004

    @Quania2004

Idk why that is that some people are more sympathetic to the villain than the hero. Rick has done some pretty reckless things that would put the group or Alexandria in danger, and usually everyone cheers him on while michonne is being the voice of reason. And now, because she wasn't solely focused on Jadis or her goals not aligning with audience wants, she's short-sighted and unreasonable, and rick has always been the level-headed one? C'mon. I'm not saying this reactor 100 percent feels this way, I'm talking about reactors who have voiced these opinions.

Oh I encourage you all to go back to seasons 7-10 and watch how I’ve felt about Michonne & Rick, I’ve grilled TF outta Rick tbh for the way he acted in 8B. I loved the way Michonne was in S5 & the way she grounded Rick & brought him around to heading to Alexandria. Rick in 5b was also crazy impulsive & Reckless & Michonne yet again was the goat & knocked his ass out when he was sounding psychotic. Michonne in 6a/b was fantastic the whole way through & S7/8 & 9a she was too. Only time I really started having an issue with the way she handled things was post time jump, yall are free to go see that change if you’d like. Ive been watching since day one & reacting since S7, all the journey for how I feel towards them is there. Regardless of what has happened to people to make them feel an act a certain way everyone in the apocalypse has lost an immeasurable amount, and experienced exceptional levels of trauma that is not unique in any way, shape or form. There is no use comparing trauma, because as we have seen with Rick in this series, everyone processes it differently. BUT, we have no clue how this is going to pan out, and even if the roles were reversed, and Michonne had been the one taken, and Rick was the one that had been home and left to find her and they were acting the exact same way only flipped (Rick being pushy and impulsive about taking Jadis out regardless of knowing the location of the file or not, etc.) I would be on Rick’s ASS about making stupid decisions based on emotion instead of thinking LOGICALLY, through the whole plan. The way that Michonne was talking right at the end of episode five was the most levelheaded and sound thinking that I have seen from her in this series regarding a long-term plan and I’m a big fan of it it’s the build up to that dragged out understanding which was frustrating me immensely. I enjoy complexity, and when a character is dying or dies that is their shining moment that is their final big push of acting so it seems kind of silly to not focus on said character especially one that’s been around as long as Anne/Jadis has. It’s a respect thing for both of the actor in the character because at the end of the day. Yes it is a television show but it’s also someone’s job and I’m going to acknowledge when someone does a good job regardless of if they’re a good or a bad person because that’s what acting is. We as viewers received a massive emotional performance and redemption in those final moments, so ignoring that just seems petty and intentionally trying to ignore it, which is not how I roll 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I was on Daryl’s ass in S8 for being crazy short sited & reckless too, same with he & Maggie in 9a. They both were getting heavy discussions post episode for me back then. And don’t even get me started on Carol in S10 🤦🏻‍♂️ 😂. Main characters, “good guys” or not, they’re not free of catching the criticism when I feel they’re making poor decisions lol

Also key phrasing there, “generally”. Absolutely correct, GENERALLY she does, but no one is right 100% of the time. Michonne & Jesus in 9a explained that beautifully with regards to the Maggie situation & I loved that! Trust me, I understand people love their favorite characters and really want to put them on pedestals, regardless of who they are or the show they’re on, and believe they can do no wrong and have no bad opinions or ideas but that’s just not true 😂.

My theory about the yellow truck is that that the entire tower was run by ‘brilliant minds’. They were able to get running purified water, keep the electricity going even beyond everyone dying out. So it’s not far-fetched to assume some of them found an EV and bottles of fuel during the time they were staying there. It’s just possible they were too weak from starvation to escape properly with the truck.

Jadis/Anne was a conflicted, convoluted, eclectic villain. She continued to mind-manipulate Rick by threatening Alexandria's destruction while she placed that very place and Father Gabriel in danger every time she visited. She knew she was wrong but also wanted the power and safety of the CRM. Her guilt made her seek penance from the only person that saw through all her bs. She redeemed herself just a little at the end when she knew death was coming for her but she was terrible but a classic good villain who got what she deserved. Also, Rick and Michonne didn't screw those three over. It was their choices that screwed them over.

We have to remember that this show will not be just 1 season. I don't think they ever planned on it being 1 season. They just don't want the fans to know it yet. It will be at least 3 seasons if not more.

I’m not sure about it extending that long, but if it does, then they certainly won’t do any other shows I don’t think. I was always under the assumption they were going to do this for one or two seasons, similar to dead city, and DD. We would get two of both of those and maybe two of this, and then all three of those shows would be brought together for something else to wrap things up from the main bracketed story before moving onto other potential new storylines. The only reason that I am not just assuming there will be a second season is because they have not told us that there will be a second season, but I think they learned their lesson with the main show in that when they announced the two spinoff shows it ruined any suspense that we had in that final half of season 11 for most of our characters because we knew half of them lived lol

Rip in peace Anne I literally balled my eyes out when Anne died. That was a beautiful death though. And I’m tired of people trashing her character because she had so many layers to her character. and I loved all of it. There is no way, they can end Rick’s story in one episode. We need one more season. I will never be satisfied without an emotional reunion with Rick and his family back home. If they think we will be ok without that, they are delusional. But I must say, this spinoff is just as great as the mothership. Never thought that could be possible.

There’s two types of viewers - those very interested in the CRM and those watching for Richonne. I’m watching for Richonne so seeing them with their kids is my top priority for this show, and I want that now, not later. The CRM stuff is interesting but if I had to choose, I’m choosing the family stuff. In my mind, the main show is over. It ended. The Richonne spin-off is bringing a conclusion to this part of that story. We all saw Jadis take Rick away in a helicopter. We deserved to see where he went. This is telling us. But the main point of this story, in my mind at least, is this man getting back to his family. We need that reunion this season. If they want to do a second season about the CR overthrowing the CRM…..cool….. but I hope to see Rick back with his kids this season.

  • @JacksWorldYT

That is an interesting explanation of the viewer base, I would add a potential third and fourth type being one that just is watching to enjoy anything TWD related and also people that are hate watching lol. I understand people want a conclusion to this couples story, but unfortunately, for that group, I firmly believe that Gimple is not simplifying this story down to just that. They’ve been building up the CRM for many years. At this point throughout three different shows (sort of four if you count Tales). And from a marketing standpoint, as well as a desire to keep this company in AMC alive and thriving they’re not just going to write off and give up on this IP that quickly and easily. A lot of people just want it to be wrapped up in a nice bow and be done so they can move on, but this is their money maker and they’re gonna keep making money with it as long as they can lol. I would say with almost certainty that assuming we get a second season, which I don’t know how we couldn’t at this point there will be no chance that they do the reunions in this episode, because it would not make sense, and it would just feel rushed and make everything about the CRM feel inconsequential. I feel like I can’t be alone in wishing that when we get reunions, we get proper fully fleshed out extended reunion scenes. I would not mind 3/4 of an episode being dedicated to just reunions and catching up and sitting in that heavy emotional moment because that’s something I believe to get the proper impact they really need to let it breathe. I firmly would love reunions, but based on the pace that we’ve seen thus far that is not something I feel they would rush because they know how long we’ve all been waiting for it and maybe I’m in the minority, but I would rather wait and get it done right then have it rushed and have it done shitty, would you agree on that at least :)? I have a sneaking suspicion that they plan on merging the different spread out, storylines in some capacity whether it be for some sort of TV movie or some new series I think they will bring everyone together in some capacity mainly being the three spinoff shows that are currently going

I agree it feels like too much is left, but I have faith in Danai & Andy. I’m sure there’s a plan. Maybe there will be a season 2 and they’ll tell us after next week like shows used to do until recent trends of saying that too early. Or maybe the story merges into another show? I’m sure we’ll know after next week’s finale. I’m just trying to enjoy the ride until then.

A phrase or line was referenced by Rick and Michonne “People from the People” so we can conclude that they are going to use the people inside of the crm to fight the crm (my theory)

Another really good episode, i can't wait for the last one to finally learn about this briefing. I bet we are going to learn something that will change The Walking Dead like what happened at the end of Season 1. When Rick learned everyone is infected and no matter how you die you still come back.

On another note, I liked the way this episode was quiet, but still full of edge of seat moments. Seth Gilliam was a nice, nostalgic breath of fresh air. I halfway thought we would see Aaron (Ross Marquand) in the last moments of the show, but this was spot on considering Gabriel’s history with Anne/Jadis. This was a nice conclusion to a complex and interesting character. Well written and impeccably acted. Bravo Pollyanna McIntosh. I didn’t like this episode as much as the previous ones, but I would still rate a high 8.5/10. The 3 travelers in the woods that tried to hold them up, took it down a bit for me. They felt stuck in the middle of a story, and kinda out of no where. In the end they served a purpose, albeit a sad one.

Episode 6 is the last chapter of The Ones Who Live that’s Rick & Michonne’s “Epic Love Story”. If there’s a Season 2, don’t expect Rick & Michonne. They’ll most likely be having BBQ in their backyard and telling the kids about how The Brave Woman found The Brave Man. The series could continue telling the story of other Ones Who Live. Also…. Gabe was meeting Anne in the woods somewhere possibly in Virginia? Had to be not too far from Philly where CRM was.

Michone is not completely short sighted.. she now understand that it's not as simple as them going home. Let's be honest, the CRM, the military portion is doing things that are inhumane (killing innocent people-chemical warfare). Even though from Jadas's point of view is to save humanity at the cost of being inhumane, the irony. My understanding from what I viewed is that the people of the republic needs to be informed of what the military is doing according to Michone they would not stand for this. I see a season 2. I dont think it can be wrapped up in the last episode though.

Hey Jack! I recently started following your channel after watching reaction videos of The Ones Who Live. I really enjoy your opinions and knowledge of the show. Like you, I love Jadis'/Anne's character and am sad to see her go. She had a lot of depth and humanity deep down and fought it 'til the very end. I thought she and Gabriel's relationship was very genuine and sweet. You know he meant a lot to her, for her to use his last name as her alias. Whether fans like her or not, she hugely impacted the show. (Enough so to be included in two spin offs-in your face Jadis haters! lol jkjk). I love Polyanna McIntosh and am so jealous you're going to get to meet her soon!

23:55 Michonne is talking about ending the CRM - Civic Republic MILITARY - not the Civic Republic, she even specifically stated that the city wouldn't stand for what the CRM has done. It sounds like she is talking about leading the civilians into a revolution. Which honestly, if you have all the decision-makers at the summit, they could take out CRM leadership/special forces with explosives/fire, which has been heavily hinted at all season. The Echelon briefing would then need to be made public to the civilians and the remaining 90% of the military that has no clue what their special forces have been up to, and that is how you preserve the "good" the Civic Republic does. This ending could set up a revolution between civilians and the rest of the military for season 2. For all the same reasons you mentioned, I hope we get a second season: I want to see the Civic Republic civilians stand up and fight against the military, especially a city full of "B's"; and I want meaningful reunions. I am terrified at how they will wrap things up. If this is the only season we get, we definitely wont get any of that. I understand why Michonne hasn't unpacked everything on Rick on screen, given the limited time in 6 episodes, plus there is a TON that Michonne is in the dark about as well: The Common Wealth, Judith getting shot, Rosita's death. She doesn't even know how the conflict with the Whisperers ended because she left during that conflict. Gimple wrote the last episode, so I have a bigger fear that Michonne will die while trying to escape the CRM, she'll sacrifice herself so Rick can go home. The word "sacrifice" has been used WAY too many times for my liking. And honestly, if that happens, I am done with the show and all the rest of the spin-offs because Gimple just likes hurting us. It would be so unsatisfying after all this time to have their story end like that.

It sounds like you want two to three more seasons of TWD. That would be great and I'm here for it, but I don't think Andrew Lincoln or Danai Gurira would be available. I see the appeal. The need to experience the primary six: Rick, Michonne, Daryl, Carol, Maggie, and Negan, their reactions to all the mini wars, discoveries of new communities, gains/losses, reconnecting with their kids, figuring out a way to coexist with the CRM and start bringing people in and saving them instead of killing off small communities and groups. It would be wildly entertaining to experience how they absorb the details of all that and everything they missed. Yes, it would be so ideal and satisfying, but unlikely.

Hoping for another season to see all the shows come together and help each other take down the CRM folkes that are killing innocent people. Together all the group of TWD get things done!

Really, she could have joined them. In the end, what she liked most was being called ''Anne'', as she spent her best moments being called by that name. Very moving episode from a certain point of view, watching all the time she was in the series and now she had to go for good. It was one of the best. It's a shame it ended that way.

I have a question…as someone who is more in tune with TWD universe than a lot of other reactors…there was a whole montage at the end of the series finale of TWD with pretty much all the cast reciting “the ones who live”. Why?? Maybe it’s marketing but it’s like they were pulling the cast into that mantra as if it was the next chapter of the TWD show. Maybe I’m reading too much into that but it stuck with me. Which makes me think it’s def part of a bigger plan to reconcile everything back into TOWL eventually. Or maybe it’s just wishful thinking…

I am really curious to what the ending of this season of The Ones Who Live will be and i'm also wondering if it's going to suck or not and i know of one thing that Rick and Michonne should definitely do or at least try to do and that's to make sure that the CRM can't make anymore chlorine gas or any other gas oh yeah and the CRM having attack helicopters and deadly gas is bad enough but imagine if they also had tanks

The CRM literally kills people. They do great for the civilians they do take on but at what cost? And they only keep the B’s they can control. That can’t be the answer imo. I will miss Jadis’ character but I am torn..she screwed them over so many time and had so many chances from the garbage heap days. But she had a great great send off.

I loved the callbacks and it was a nice episode, but this was my least favorite of the series because like you, I don't want some haphazard, rushed, cookie cutter finale and I don't think this episode pushed the story forward enough....unless there's going to be a continuation of it in some capacity. I agree with you almost completely on all the CRM stuff and the way the audience perceives them, I think people are too focused on "Michonne is right, Rick is wrong, they need to blow up the CRM, and go home" and that's that...but I would be so disappointed and it would completely ruin an otherwise great series for me if that's the way it goes. I don't want Gimple to Gimple up the finale lol and I'm putting my trust more so in Andy and Danai (who said the show went exactly the way they wanted it to) and it'll be a satisfying finale...whatever that means lol.

@@JacksWorldYT But I really don't understand how you are okay with CRM though. Right now, they are bad. The cause doesn't justify the means in my opinion. They need to be stopped. This episode is the first one I really loved because finally both characters' views collide. Michonne is finally agreeing to Rick to stop/change the CRM, like Rick wanted all along in episode 4. They didn't ever said that they want to do anything to the city, rather they said the contrary. They didn't even said they want to blow up all the CRM, just stop them, which can mean many things. Why is it a bad thing to do that? It seems to me more than people really are confusing the CRM with the CR city. Sorry, but I just don't agree with you guys here

They could do another season or not. I believe they should have let 'Rick' die on the bridge. To me not allowing that was 'cowardly' and 'greedy'. Neither Rick nor Daniel should have survived a BRIDGE EXPLODING! I didn't need all of this with Jadis. By the way, my brain's not little. I really just want a decent ending for our Leading characters.
