Rick and Michonne are married. That was a wedding ring, not an engagement ring. They exchanged vows in episode 5.
It’s not really open in my opinion. The story of Rick and michonne concluded perfectly. Their story is closed. We might see them pop up in the Daryl spin off, or Dead City, which I’d love but I don’t see any more of this show coming.

I just saw some interviews with Gimple and Danai and both of them don’t directly say that there will be a or won’t be a second season. Just that there is maybe more story to be told. But you may be right, they may just pop up in different spin-offs and get their reunions.
Great ending to a great season of TV. Rick is home :)

There has to be one… I doubt World Beyond , The Negan and Daryl serieses will just be separate stories. Morgan hasn’t shown up as well. There has to be some kind of conclusion and getting everyone back together.
