The most unrealistic thing on the show so far has not been the zombies - it's the fact that when Daryl spoke English to the French people, they spoke English back at him. I've been to France several times, this does not happen.

and I've seen the exact opposite. If you're polite, most of the French will try to accomodate English speakers

I lived in Paris for 2 years and trust me french people doesnt like english idk why! They even prefer to talk spanish before english😵😵🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Especially after an apocalypse, French people wouldn’t bother learning English anymore

I can’t wait to see that experimental walker. I really like when they bring in the science type stuff. It seems like Dr Frankenstein shenanigans with those bolts sticking outta it. It’s some damn cool dead stuff. 🖖✌️

Daryl is an Everyman. People can see themselves in Daryl's boots, and want to follow his journey because they are invested. Negan and Maggie feel like Arnold and Sarah Connor vs Skynet

Everything is great. The only thing I don't get is how far out was Daryl when he floated on that row boat, cause if it was a long way he would have had sun poisoning and be very dehydrated

Daryl jumped off the cargo ship in the Gulf of Cadiz. So he would have floated for several days on the row boat. He should have been sunburned

@@lastrrr4134 That's what I said, sun poisoning and dehydration. But he was just a tiny bit sun burned and just a little bit of water helped. That part didn't make any sence to me, but the show was great, so I can over look that, even though it would never happen. He would have been burnt and sick

The term used in the long ago past, was that Daryl had gotten "Shanghai'd". Just in case you can't say it I will. I know the YT algorithm can hurt you for certin things.

the fact that this group in northern france uses lights and even trucks, and uses ships that can reach america makes me wonder if they're just some dudes searching for the cure, or just some survivors, cuz i don't think they are with the CRM, because of their armor. In fact, the two soldiers behind that officer have not the same uniform as the crm soldiers.

So folks, to recap...there may have been a magic bike...there were definitely pirates...but still nobody knows how he got to France. 😂

I doubt that he was Shanghai think Carol was on that ship too. Cause they said the prisoners escaped...

I tend to doubt it. If carol had been on the ship, Daryl would have searched frantically for her once he was on the beach, rather than take off cross country! You KNOW he would be trying to find her! He would tell Isabelle, Laurent, anyone and everyone who would listen that he had to find her. As I have said, I firmly believe that HOW carol gets to France and finds Daryl is because he SENDS for her near the end of the first season! As for the "prisoners" plural... I think that it might have been other people, who were slated for being experimented on. Perhaps they were being killed, one by one, to watch the transformation from human to walker. Daryl broke loose, told other crew members what was going on (and that THEY would be next!) and they mutinied in fear. The crew blew up the laboratory or the containment structures, and while that was going on, Daryl, chased by a mutant walker, escaped.

That's my thought... Daryl makes that call, is kidnapped.... When he does not show Carol looks for him and is taken by the group... Daryl didn't know she was on the ship.... Not two crossings....

it's now been established that the ship(s) go back and forth from these locations. If Carol knows where to catch the ship, she could take the same route over.

He came on the bad guys ship - he then caused an explosion which damaged the ship. Even though, it is the bad guys ship. This is why he could not return on it.

@TWDExplained My theory is that Daryl found Rick but before he could get close? He was discovered and captured by the CRM. Jadis may have saved him? Maybe they thought sending him to France would get him out of the way? Remember when he was making the recording? He said, "I want him to know, I'm still trying." The "him" has to be Rick.

I hope that lady's group have some connection to CRM considering the experiments and all. Overall, pretty good first episode, the only thing that threw me off a bit is how every French person is able to speak English, even a kid that probably never met anglophone in his life, but it's understandable

Europe has a lower population but a higher pop density, meaning there is more than likely more supplies in europe still due to there not being as many survivors in europe. Also being in a castle with a MOAT? You'd be damn near untouchable if you dont drop that bridge.
