This is an excellent breakdown of the episode. I don't think the first scene is a flash forward. Your second theory is most likely correct; it's a manifestation of Daryl's doubts about whether or not Laurent is truly special(not necessarily a dream though, since he would have been unconscious underwater for mere seconds). Also, Anna is jealous of Isabel's return to Quinn's life, so she'll probably help her escape. I think you're right about the possibility of Quinn lying about being Laurent's father, for the reasons you mentioned. Lastly, I thought it was odd that Daryl didn't avail himself of the military vehicle after killing the two occupants. But perhaps he thought it would make him more conspicuous as he searched for Isabel's street.

I would bet money that she’ll stick around for a long time. Her name is second after Norman in the title cards and usually characters introduced in the first episode become what the show focuses around. Plus she’s an amazing actress and the chemistry between them is great, it would be a mistake to kill her off too early.

What I think would be cool if all kids born after zombie outbreak were immune. Remember, all of people are technically infected (that's why they resurrect after death), so the mother should pass this infection to her child, but what if said child also develops immunity to it? And the immunity is to bite, by the way, cause we sea at Eiffel tower that walker clearly trying to eat Laurent. Have we ever saw kid born after outbreak resurrected as walker? They all are immune...

My only issue about most of these shows. The main series where it started the walkers(zombies) were naturally breaking down. We should by this point in time really see very few walkers. The reality of just the world being so empty now should begin to set in. Those who had survived unless enough food is made would just keep dwindling down. Which I understand the point of the show more so is the walkers and surviving. I understand Europe had a different version of the walker, but still it shouldn't stop decay. Thus we should see about a few here and there, but no more hordes any more.

This trailer sleuth clinches it! Isabelle dies. THAT explains Daryl embracing the boy, it explains Daryl and Laurent at the grave, Daryl holding a shovel, and a small pile of jewelry at their feet. I think that Isabelle tries to kill Quinn. He kills her instead. Daryl kills him, takes Laurent, buries Isabelle, and decides to remain in France to care for the boy. He sends for Carol to come and help him. THAT explains the last episode's title "Coming Home". The only reason I think Daryl stays in France is because the second season is being filmed IN France. The other possibilities are that Codron kills Isabelle. An alternative possibility is that it is not Isabelle that is killed, but Sylvie. Sylvie was billed as one of the main characters, and yet she has had little to no character development... maybe she's the "Red Shirt" in this series... but I tend to doubt it. That little pile of jewelry at the gravesite HAS to be Isabelle's! UNLESS it's Annie that's killed. Either way, whoever is in that grave, is female.

My Google says: There are several replicas of the Statue of Liberty in Paris.014 The first replica is located on Île aux Cygnes, an artificial island on the Seine River in Paris 15. It was given by the American community in Paris to commemorate the centennial of the French Revolution.5 The second replica is located on a pedestal near Liberty Park Halls of Residence on a traffic island, "Liberty Circus", close to where it originally stood.3 The third replica is a small replica situated on a square of the 6th arrondissement.1 There are no less than six reproductions of the Statue of Liberty in Paris, exhibited in the open air or in the museum.2 The statue's face was inspired by the face of the French sculptor's mother.

Watching the Laurent praying scene, I immediately came to a new conclusion about the Walker/Living relationship. Provided that scene is a real event, his immunity would be in his blood. Walkers aren't attacking him because his blood does not have the virus in it. Therefore, Walkers are attracted to the blood of the living. The infected blood that is. It makes sense when you think of an organism, such as a virus, trying to replicate and survive. The virus infecting Walkers wants to replicate. Hence, the Walkers craving to bite people. It's attracted to the blood, knowing that said blood in the living is infected, and will result in its subject turning into a Walker, or spreading the virus.

They also attack and eat animals. Animals apparently don't become walkers, so they are unaffected by the virus. The zombie virus seems tailor made for humans. I've always thought it was a military experiment to infect an enemy country with the virus knowing that would cause chaos and disruption. Might have been engineered to have walkers active for a short time then the virus completely becomes inactive. Like maybe a month then it's done, but it was inadvertently made permanent and got loose in the world. As for Laurent, maybe he's a hybrid and gives off a scent that makes walkers think he's undead. Would be kind of cool if he would die, then revive as an intelligent walker with no change in his personality, able to talk and think rationally. Most likely he's the cure for the virus.

I definitely think you're kinda reaching with the intro scene being a flash forward. Personally, it seems pretty clear that it's meant to be a sort of dream since, like you said, we said Daryl waking up immediately after. Seems like it's moreso meant to be symbolism with Laurent praying his way out of being bitten but then still walking away from Daryl; maybe referencing Daryl's overall lack of faith in religion which is already a big focus of the series so far

Did Daryl lie when he said "I made it all up." I think it WAS a lie. Daryl did not make it up, he remembered his own childhood. Here's what we know: Daryl and Merle's parents were neglectful or violent and alcoholic. The dialogue between Daryl and Merle, when we saw his scars in Season 2 of TOS: "I... I didn't know!" "Yeah you did! He hit you, too. S'why you left!" "I had to! I woulda killed him!"And his mother: (to Carl) "My Mom liked her cigarettes, and her wine..." And she died in bed in a house fire, presumably drunk or asleep. And in TWD:DD S1E1 we have [camera closeup of Daryl's back with old clusters of burns along with the scars] "My Daddy was a smoker." Now... being lashed with a belt (presumably the cause of the long crisscrossing scars we saw before) might be done out of anger or drunken rage... but deliberate clustered cigarette burns (on the nape of his neck and mid-back) is not anger... it's torture! Add to this Daryl's story about the father buying the son "Jimmy" a pet piglet... and then forcing the child to KILL that pet...Add to that Daryl's comment that "Jimmy's" father was "A drunk. In fact I don't remember ever seein' him sober." That "Jimmy" was small and so was picked on by the other kids, followed by Daryl's bitterly 'triumphant "They never f---ed with Jimmy again" and it REALLY sounds as if he was recounting what happened to HIM as a child. A father who would methodically and deliberately and REPEATEDLY apply a burning cigarette to a child's back WOULD command that same child to kill a devoted piglet! This accounts for Daryl's capacity for violence. I think Merle tried his best to 'toughen Daryl up' because he KNEW his younger brother ("Daryl always was the sweet one.") wouldn't be able to cope with their father's rages. He went about it in the only way HE knew. This casts Me5rle in the same tragic light as Daryl. he, too, was tortured! But, not knowing HOW to nurture or care for... Merle could only try to "build calluses" on his baby brother. It worked to some extent, but Daryl, instead of exploding outward, curled all the pain and anger, fear and resentment in on himself. he, like Merle, did not know or understand any other way. When Beth died, Daryl went out into the woods, sat down and... applied a burning cigarette to his hand! NOW we know why!

Judith's birth was very different from Lauraunt's birth. Lori wasn't bitten while Judith was in her belly. Lori wasn't bitten at all. She went into labor when everyone at the prison got separated during a walker attack. So it was just Lori, Maggie, and Carl. Lori tried to give birth naturally, but she couldn't, as Carl was also a c-section birth. Lori begs Maggie to do the c-section to save the baby. She agrees, knowing that Lori wouldn't survive the operation. The baby (Judith), didn't tear Lori apart. She bled to death after giving her life to save Judith. Afterwards, Carl shoots his mother in the head so she won't turn. Did you actually watch this episode?

Well, it's a cliche, but there's a reason it's cliche... I think that Daryl will be captured (of course! EVERYBODY captures Daryl!) by the cause. Eager to show off the new zombie variant, Genet will hold a 'victory celebration' and a public presentation. Quinn and Isabelle will be invited. They do not know that Daryl has been captured. Genet will brag about how they have triumphed. They now have "remote control" zombies to defeat their enemies and their enemies will pay. At which point, Daryl will be shoved into the fight pit along with ol Needleneck, the zombie. Isabelle will be horrified, but will be unable to help Daryl. She will attack Quinn, believing (possibly true) that Quinn somehow had a hand in this. OR she'll try to attack Genet or Codron or... whatever, whoever. If she attacks Codron, Daryl and he will battle, setting him up as the Uber Villain to be fought in season 2. Now either Daryl defeats the zombie, OR he escapes and somebody (possibly Isabelle) falls into the pit and gets bitten. Enter Laurent! He will see whoever it is get bitten. Daryl will comfort him. Daryl will have to 'dispatch' the bitten person before they turn. They then bury Isabelle (the pile of jewelry at their feet near the gravesite proves to me that it's Isabelle who dies. Daryl knows that Laurent is alone, now. Possibly Quinn also dies in the big fight. Daryl tells Laurent that he will take care of him because he had promised Isabelle he would. That's when he sends for Carol. In the final episode, Daryl sends for Carol and agrees to stay with the Union of Hope to try to fight the Cause, and raise Laurent. Season 2 will be the Union versus the Cause.

Dickriders will disagree, but we are now 4 episodes into a 6 episode spinoff and we have no better explanation for how Daryl ended up on an entirely different continent other than “Yo bro he was on a research vessel that exploded and nobody knows how it happened.” Not sure what effect AMC is going for with tiptoeing around fully introducing the CRM, but it’s just getting annoying at this point. It’s even more frustrating that this spin-off didn’t need to happen in the first place; I don’t need further Daryl development to justify the Rick/Michonne spin-off. Daryl’s character would’ve met a completely satisfying end for me after saving Judith in the main story. This has just been four episodes of fluff and more forgettable characters. I’ll watch it, but it bores me.

I'm a bit off about having an immune kid in Walking Dead. Robert Kirkmin expressed that he didn't want there to be a person who was immune, and having this feels like it's just playing along with all the other zombie series currently, like The Last of Us. I liked the idea that the world was doomed and everyone had to find a way to make a new world from it, though now that the chance of a cure or something is being brought up, it just kinda makes all off. At least that's what I think. If they're able to make it work, then I'll gladly be fine with it.

Damn Darryl was gangster with it. And I’m surprised they’re doing well with this series because the other spin offs and walking dead itself was kind of ass. Dead city is cool though.

Laurent smells like a walker to walkers, so they ignore him (like wearing walker guts). It has nothing to do with immunity. I bet that if he gets bit, he'll die/turn like anyone else.

Had to stop watching the original walking dead after "Lucile" was introduced into the series. It just got too disturbing after that. I hope this one doesn't pass that threshold, but we'll see. So far it's pretty good.

The episode wasn't great, and you actually can kinda see that opposition between religion (Laurent) and authority (Genet), while in reality Genet would probably use Laurent to straighten approval among people...
