The most common issue on the old 850s for no start is lack of fuel. There's the red relay under the fuses in the engine bay, that can go faulty. There's also the main fuel injector relay on top of the radiator fan shroud. With the ignition on, flick that relay to see if the contacts are sticking. If it is, there's an obvious inrush of fuel when it primes the fuel injector manifold. Easy test for fuel pressure is to remove the valve cap on the end of the fuel rail and press the valve. I've played this game with ours since 1998. I've never suffered from cam position sensor or crank position, nor temp sensor but those sudden no starts... my vote is one of the fuel relays (or fuel pump, i'm on my third).

With regard to the long start time for your car, is it like that when cold? A common issue is the non return valve failing due to age and the fuel drains back to the tank, leaving the fuel rail unpressurised, such that when you start cranking, you're doing so while the fuel pump is also priming. On ours, we just turn ignition on and wait, you can hear the fuel rail pressurise and then when it's done, THEN crank. I'd be interested to know if yours is doing that.
