Our first week on the road! It was a massive adjustment for us both. Guus had been living in New Zealand for the last 4.5 years, mostly working and not really traveling. Hannah had never camped for more than one night at a time.
We thought we could handle living in a van in the middle of summer...Texas almost broke us, New Mexico finally did. But hey, you don't know freedom until you've woken up in a truck stop in your own personal sauna on wheels.
It wasn't all bad! Not hardly. We saw cool stuff everyday. But this first week was mostly about getting there, and by the end of the week, we had arrived.
