The Vines on Jools Holland 2003 (all songs= Outtathaway / Homesick / Get Free)
Музыка
Car crash TV / more drum humping! I wasn't going to upload this but here I am, uploading it. Full set and big improvement in quality for ya. You can just about make out what a nice sunburnt song Homesick is...
Back in the day everyone figured Craig was just smoking far too much weed / caning it to the point of psychosis. Well, he was, but thankfully it turns out he's since been diagnosed with Asperger's. Kind of obvious when you think about it. Add in a large TV audience, equipment trouble and voila, meltdown-a-gogo. Worth it for Jools' reaction at least.
*I should point out that obviously most people with Asperger's don't usually act like this. ASD self-consciousness + ganja + international fame might work fine in pairs but all 3 together is never going to end well. The more you know~

Just Great. Love their preformances. The bass player is always trying to finish the song
Young people of 2014. This is how rock n roll looked in the early 2000....
"Exquisite display of rock n roll." All the best Craig.
The comments here are a perfect example of why rock and roll is dead: People are so fucking afraid of embarrassing themselves or being "cringy" that they would rather do nothing at all than have some fun.
The ending, when Craig quite unnoticably got behind the drum kit, threw the snare up in the air and caught it, left me in stitches XD
I always thought they were one of the most hot and cold bands ever. 'Outtathaway,' not just a great song, but one of the best music videos ever-- in my mind, maybe the best music video ever. "She never loved me....She never loved me....She never loved me....Why should anyone?!"-- Could you write a better rock and roll lyric that that? And 'He's a Rocker' is such a lonely and beautiful song. But even in a single song, Craig Nichols could carom back and forth from brilliance to unpleasantly ugly and then back to brilliant in the space of 2 minutes. I always feel like Craig Nichols is daring me to fall out of love with him.
I love it how Jools wasn't even fazed, then to come out with a line such as "the guy i'm going on holiday with" lol. Quality!
I bet this rendition of homesick can be easily argued as genius.
"Explicit display of rock & roll, The Vines!" Jools lo dijo todo...
true uninhibited rock and roll. Just beautiful.
The impulse to destroy your gear didn't come from Nirvana, people have been doing it since the beginning of rock n roll. That's like saying by breathing you're copying your mom. Craig's problem wasn't that he was nuts. His problem was that no-one else in his band was nuts. Those guys should've been welders or landscapers. Leave art to artists.

The Who used to do this half a century ago but they sounded great live; this guy didn't. Thats the difference.

***** It's cool to destroy you're gear but they aren't not talented because they didn't. People play how they want to.

Check out Live from Leeds...they weren't that soft...
This is the best video iv ever watched!
ahhahah Jools "I wanna go on holiday with these people"
Someone's been watching alot of nirvana:) feels like a video from the early 90s rather than the early 00s
Gotta love the Jools Holland audience, they'll clap and cheer anything.
I hate when I see comments about his "mental issues". My boyfriend has Asperger and he's the most cute boy ever. Sure we had some problems... like every couple. But when I told me I studied some books, I didn't even try to judge him. And I realised that AS isn't a mental issue, it's a different visual of the world, we just can enter in their point of view. For an AS, things like performing are difficult, there are lights, people, noises... They notice everything that's why they have sensory overload more or less.

agree 100%, it's just an approach to the world that's stronger in some ways than the average mind, and weaker in others. You sound like a great partner
THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL THANK FOR PUTTING THEM TOGETHER!
"exquisite display of rock'n'roll" - well said, Jools (you can tell that he fucking loves them , lol)
Omg he throws the snare at the very end in the background lol this is by far the best Vines video I've ever seen. If only they would've done that Homesick outro tho..:
Thanks for the upload!
Stop labeling people, you mugs. Craig is his own man, THIS IS ROCK N ROLL!
Heroic
It seems to me like the more people are watching, the more out of control Craig is. Anyone else feel this way?
That cluckin Strat sound is superb!
all this, is a part of show. Good outposting!
It's stuff like this that is going to interest our future selves in 100 years not the manufactured drivel.
haha this is fucking awesome.
Good effort at the end there, I got my money's worth.

This made me laugh so much!!!!!!!!!!!!
aspergers is a difficulty in the way and time it takes for an individual to process information, my son has it. it is in the autism spectrum but different, it would not explain his actions tho he's just being a crazy fuck. Love it ..... vines are sick.

because of that and not following social cues it also makes you extremely self-conscious, worrying about how you come across, feeling that everyone's always looking at and judging you. Which is amplified a little when you're on TV. So yeah it doesn't make you jump around but it might make his brain overload +he's really stoned. It's good your son's diagnosed, this might apply more to people who grow up realising they interact differently but not understanding why that is.
nice.. thx
I couldn't get past 2:30.
Anyone have a decent quality video of them playing Highly Evolved on Jools Holland?
Pretty good band from back in the day. Reminds me of a band heavily influenced by nirvana.

I think it's pretty obvious, for what i know about them, they were a cover band of Nirvana, wich make me think that he's a Kurt Cobain wannabe, but that's just my opinion!

+thiago lima That's what people said after their first single, but then they released an album containing a load of acoustic stoner pop. It's a really lazy comparison.

That's why they disappeared, people expected they'd continue to imitate grunge bands, especially Nirvana, and they know that!
