It's this sort of angsty nihilism that's gripped with energy yet is passive aggressive. It's punk yet it sounds a bit mainstream too. It's such a paradox of a song. It's amazing. I love it too.

When this song came out I was 12 going on 13 and had just discovered Nirvana earlier that year...this band hit the scene and blew me away. I threw out my Sum 41 and Blink 182 cds. This song was perfect for teenage angst. The next album Winning Days was excellent as well.

Seguramente nadie de la actualidad lo entendera, pero cuando se estreno esta canción fue tan pero tan violenta y mágica que recuerdo que estando en el equipo de americano tenia yo 21 años, y cuando la ponían nos inspiraba a que salieran mejor las jugadas y los golpes eran más duros y eficaces. A 20 años de su aparición, esta melodía sigue pegando tan fuerte como la primera vez que le cayó un rayo 🌩 a The Vines.

It's July 14th 2022! 20 years since the "Highly Evolved" album was released! I've been listening to it every day! My favorite band forever. Happy anniversary, The Vines!

Loved this song since I heared it on Virtua Tennis on Dreamcast when I was 11 years old. To this day, it is just as awesome, Vines age like fine wine.

This is one of my favorite songs, I was so hyped when I heard it come on while I was playing Far Cry 5. Was not expecting to hear it there.

I (still) listen to The Vines -- a LOT! This song always pumps the blood & gets my lazy ass off the couch when needed.
