The Viking Holger Rune vs The Bublik Enemy Alexander Bublik | UTS London Grand Final Highlights

Спорт

Holger Rune overcame Alexander Bublik in sudden death at the UTS Grand Final in London on Saturday to score his first win in the competition.
With both players losing their first match on Friday, the contest was an important one for both. Rune started off by winning the first quarter 15-11 before Bublik took the next two quarters 18-12 and 19-12.
Rune fought back to take the fourth quarter, but only just as he won the deciding point 15-14 and then clinched the sudden death 2-1 to complete the victory.
Rune will be back in the evening session when he takes on Gael Monfils while Bublik will meet Jack Draper later on Saturday.
With Draper and Mondils both winning their first matches on Friday, there is still plenty to play for in Group B.

Should had asked in the player's native language. The verbal parts of most people do no work well in that high stress condition, adding the language barrier on top of that and the answers you get would be "no", "stupid question", ...

I think the fact that players who win UTS never seem to come back and "defend" their "title" says alot about what they think of this format. Rune didnt seem impressed when he said its weird!

I don't understand crap, like the quarters don't even have the same amount of point to win them... I guess that's what they call "revolutionnary tennis" (i'd call it entertainment arcade).

@@Smalldeine Children have more fun. Besides, the "granny" version is rapidly losing market share. I appreciate UTS as an effort to innovate and keep the sport alive. The heightened speed of play, for example, is exciting and fun. I hope the old guard will consider incorporating some of these changes.
