I've watched the View since I was in pampers til now. Rosie was one of my favorite co-host. Her brash delivery, humor, and common sense thinking was what the show needed. Love you Rosie.

This season of The View was BY FAR the best. I watched every single day. Rose McGowan was a very memorable and impressive cohost!

You could tell from day one that Elisabeth resented Rosie. You know SHE didn't get that kind of ovation on her first day.

No matter what people thought of her, the year Rosie was on The View was it's one and only good year. People loved her, people hated her, but everyone was talking about the show. It got on news and pundit programs all the time, they discussed interesting topics and the audience grew out of its intended target to include other demographics. Rosie actually cared about how the show was presented; now it's just lazy and the producers try and "make sparks" but done get how to get the interest back.

It is very evident from the very start here that Elizabeth did not like Rosie.

Not true they were all trying to figure it out at this point. Actually, Rosie was trying to take charge bc she was used to doing that on her own show. She and Barbara (later Whoopie) had control issues\struggles. Rosie is the one that made them paint the walls from beige to blue!!!

I agree no one can replace the wonderful Meredith Vieira. Miss her everyday.

I can't believe I was there in the good beginning right down to the bitter end.

She stole the show on day 1. Elizabeth wasn’t vibing with it.

This clip is 10 minutes and 20 seconds long. That's about as much of this episode as I saw on the day it originally aired in 2006. For better or worse I'm a huge View fan. I've been watching since day one (yes, even the Meghan McCain years). This day was BIG for me...season premier..10 years...new moderator...Rosie's return to TV... I was in HEAVEN! But it turns out...apparently, so was my mother. I sat, watching with glee, In my own little world. Then...tap tap tap. My sister creeps out of my mother's bedroom and taps my arm... "I think mom is dead." What? The gall! To be fair mom had been in hospice care for a few days and we knew the end was coming. But NOW??? Just 10 minutes in to Rosie's first episode??! Off the TV went and that was that. Never did get to see the full episode. And now 17 years later.. this youtube link comes across my desk and here I am thinking I'm finally going to get to see that Jessica Simpson interview. But, alas. You should really change the name of this video to The View - Rosie's First Day - But Just The First 10 Minutes and 20 Seconds.

It was all about her, thats why it could never work. She can only have her own show. This show is about working together and having a conversation. She could never do what Meredith did for 9 years and what whoopi is doing now for 3 years.

lo10188 AGREE Read the book that’s out now! Turmoil from most of them lots of the time. Ugghh seemed like the producers etc messed up most of the time. They changed the direction of the show and hosts so much trying to figure out how to bump up ratings.

No one like Rosie. And here, years later, I’m having separation anxiety. If I could sit and have dinner with just three people for a very special occasion. Rosie would be one. My mother would come back and be another .. they would hit it off beautifully. Maybe there wouldn’t be another … god knows there would be enough convo with just us.

I miss Rosie. I used to watch daily when she was on. Now it's just a fluff show again, no real issues.

Her name is Janette Barber. She was an executive producer on The Rosie Show, and was a producer of some sort on The View when Rosie was on it.

Back when The View used to consist of actual intelligent dialogue. Today it's devolved into a Trump-hating echo chamber. There's no actual discussion or respectful debates anymore.

Well, Meghan ruins that with her constant talk of her friends or her dad. Now they’re wanting an actual Trump supporter to be at the table. I don’t know how that will work with everyone hating the fact that Elisabeth’s protege still thinks she can run the show.

The reason she looks shorter is because Rosie has a long torso... they had to shorten her chair legs so she didn't look taller than Barbra. is that sad that I know that?

I think that Rosie probably scared her. Like she could go off on her bigoted and idiotic rants, and the only one to spar with was Joy. And Rosie can get really heated on the topics that she cares about, i think EH most likely felt intimidated .

Rosie was a long time household name when she joined the show, & her, & EH, were obviously opposites, which both were well aware of. Of course the zealot Republican EH was very intimidated. Rosie has her issues, but she does the good work/challenging what's wrong in the world.

Sheri was there as a guest co-host a few times while Rosie was still moderator. Whoopi was also on the show as guest co-host while Rosie was there.
