The policies of the Bush administration were one reason the recession happened. Instead of our government curtailing wallstreet and big banks that we're allowing hinkie loans to people who weren't qualified or the revolving credit loans that one month the mortgage would be $1,200 and the next month $2,500 depending upon intrest rates. I know my sister got one of those revolving loans and within a year she was in foreclosure and the bank took her home .

I admire Sherri Shepherd for stepping aside and simply smiling while the rest go at it. Joy always brings up something that sets Elisabeth off and Whoopi gets up to defend her.

2008, the year my husband lost his job because 'the recession' hit us in California very hard. We lost our home in December 2012 (sold it in the post-real estate crash market) for peanuts. We were homeless with $120K in debt. I was 52-my husband was 62. He finally got a job this year (2015)! Six years of job searching. Money gone, retirement savings gone, dreams gone, Thongs are still fucked up.

Lol your typo reminded me of auto correct text gone bad to my friend from years ago....I was TRYING TO type out “you’re right I never wear a thong” (which is probably a weird convo with your friend in the first place 🤣) however it turned out to be, “you’re tight I never wear a thing” 😂

It was statistically proven that in '07 2% of the people in the United States pay 98% of the taxes, and I don't think that poor people could have afforded the 98%.

Elizabeth loves conflict. A long time ago she had a show in Style Network called "The Look For Less" that show was very cool and she was very cool. I was happy to know that she was going to be part of "The View" but I was disappointed, because I saw that the cool happy girl was not there, but there was a loud and complicated person who likes to impose her ideas by shouting.

I remember that show! I loved Elizabeth so much then. She gave some great tips that I used as a college student and even today. I was also happy to hear she was going to be on The View, but disappointed to see how far right she was. I was also wondering what happened to that cool chic that was on "The Look for Less"?

i think it is important to have all political parties represented, even if one is clearly archiac , classist and racist. elizabeth's view may be skewed but it is her VIEW.

I’ve watched like two or three clips of The View back to back, and I don’t think I have ever heard various people say “will you let me finish” more times than I’ve just heard said to Elisabeth in those few clips. Someone get that woman child out of there, Christ almighty.

Elisabeth sounds so much like shes repeating false information from memory. I really wonder if she carries flash cards for the subjects she has no idea she debates at times.

I don’t really consider it "pandering". It’s kinda normal to adjust your method of delivery to the audience you’re addressing so that they can accent the message easier. Race, sex, age, background, etc.

this was the best season of the view during the election Joy Whoopi and Elizabeth had some great debates no matter who you were riding with it was good

Looking back and revisiting just how nauseating Elizabeth was.

I love to hate Hasselbeck, the View would be dull without her. She makes me feel good about my average intellect. Love Whoopi 99% of the time, Joy 85%, Sherri 30% and Elizabeth 0.000001%.

Joy = voice of reason.

I disagreed with Elisabeth for years but she was a lot more tolerable than Meghan McCain.

Joy is wrong in all points that she is trying to make. She is saying that it's Bush's fault that we are hitting into a recession? The dems in congress rejected numerous bills YEARS ago, and i can back my self up on this one, that would have helped the economy. It is not Bush's job to "help" the environment. It's yours, JOY!!

Do you mean Joy? She was the one who brought that up, and saying that being opposed to Roe v Wade is obviously against women is completely ridiculous and neglects any consideration for points of view not shared by herself. Many women are pro life and many men are pro choice, and to trivialize such a complicated and delicate issue is somewhat irresponsible.

She believes without reason. On a discussion show that becomes frustrating hearing somebody spout assumptions without backup when there are people actually trying to come to a real conclusion, not just validify their own beliefs to themselves, and then shutting off their ears when their turn is over.

I don't know how often you watch The View, but I think Whoopi IS pretty okay with it. She often reiterates the fact that the more you earn, the more you pay, and as long as the money is used constructively, and on the things that are most in need and going to better the country as a whole, then she doesn't mind. I think her only issue was not getting the stimulus money, or whatever it was, that everyone was getting.

it is a shame that on EVERY episode of The View somebody has to ask Elisabeth to wait her turn to speak. She is so disrespectful. And, more often than not, she is loud and wrong.
