I've traveled all over the world and no matter where I go "Friends" is the most popular. Egypt, India, Argentina, ...they just love it. 6 white people in New York City who don't represent the vast majority of the world and, yet, the world loves them. Why? Because they relate to characters on a HUMAN level. My buddy Marwan feels he's just like Joey Tribbiani because he's a ladies man and also a bit goofy. Joey didn't have to be an Arab or a Muslim in order for Marwan to connect to him. But apparently Jasmine had to be an Arab to connect to Alyssa. It's very bizarre... especially since Jasmine isn't nearly as popular in the Middle East as Belle or Ariel or Elsa and Anna.
