Casey has such a great sense of nostalgia, when he speaks about the past, when he shows his diary entries, when he reflects on his relationship with his son. It has elements of introspectiveness and also it has a sense of wanting to be shared with others at the same time.

It's crazy to find this vlog 6 years later, knowing that this is what my own country looked like in 2012. There's a big highway connecting Hanoi with Hoa Binh now, I swear to god Hanoi looked so different, and the hotel that you stayed in closed its doors after 20 years of operating. This video brings back such a great sense of nostalgia; your storytelling skills are pure perfection, and this video brought up so many emotions.

Frightened lol. People can get almost anything through security. It's there to create the illusion of safety.

Casey has a perspective that is somehow older than his age and yet so fresh and in touch with his own childhood. My son and his son are probably a few months apart in age and even though I am significantly older, I am feeling everything Casey feels in this -- where did the time go -- I wish we took more trips -- you can't change the past -- NOSTALGIA and MELANCHOLY with JOY and deep LOVE and APPRECIATION all mixed up into one swirl of emotion. When my son bought a boat last year--because he misses racing together (where does the time go?) did I discourage his new adventure? Heck no--here's to a kid who still wants to go play with his father.

Awesome sentiment. Our kids are 8 and 6 now. Already feel it is going to fast, but starting to document and catalog much more to be able to look back.

I subscribed to Casey's channel when he had around 200,000 subs. I would wait every fortnight for a new video. Then the daily vlog started, i got bored of it. Happy that he's posting these types of video again :)

My brother has the same thing which was taken apart from a pencil sharpener. Bringing it on the plane however.. is uncharted territory for me.

I cant believe the quality of that point and shoot camera !!. also I've just spent 15 mins longer than I should have on the toilet and it was totally worth it.

Thanks Casey, you've motivated me to take more memorable trips with my son. I go to Saigon almost yearly (parents live there now), but when my son gets a bit older im going to travel to various places with him. As a dad in my mid thirties, its hard to remember experiences with my son, but I always remember international trips. They trigger memories because they arent the same mundane routine that I do everyday.

man, i was born in vietnam 15 years ago and moved to canada 9 years ago, watching this video makes me very nostalgic and brings back a lot of memories, smells, noises, humidity and feelings from when i was younger. thanks for making this movie Casey.

People need to stop acting as if Casey is the one that individually sold Beme. First of all, he doesn't own Beme, second he doesn't have all the rights to it and third it's a smart business decision

You are an amazing person. A father every man should try to be. Spending time with your son. My father was always overseas working and to see how much time you spent with your son. Is inspiring. I made my time with my Dad count and when I look back. I am a lot like him.

I travelled Vietnam for 30 days. Loved it. Beautiful country.

As I commented several times, it must have been a finalized major new project that was the reason Casey stopped with his vlogs (the thing he was "holding back"). Now we know, it was a deal with CNN where Beme is sold for a lot of money, and a new affiliate to CNN for digital content is created where Casey and his Beme partner will be the directors. Well done. Casey is rich now. And future content will probably be even more ambitious. He will probably look for talent for the new company. My guess is that PPPeter ("the impossibe day of Casey Neistat") will be one of them.

Yeah, first vid I saw of his was the Apple/iPods dirty secret, then Bike Lanes. When he uploaded the video where he left the tons of equipment in the taxi is when I subbed, loved his old stuff
