@@OniGanon "Not exactly modest" may not be INcorrect since like half of their outfits show of a lot of legs, but it's not as if they were dressing like strippers* or anything. If you look at their designs in FFTA: Assassin, Sniper, Summoner, and White Mage were all well covered. And that's four out of their eight classes already. Archer and Elementalist had exposed midriffs and skirts (Elementalist's skirt was tied off to the side, exposing more of one leg while hiding the other), neither of which is particularly showy, though the archer's skirt is on the short side. Finally there's Fencer and Red Mage, whose clothes could be described as high cut slit dresses but with less than full length skirts, though the Red Mage's "dress" turn into a jacket at the shoulders plus the high boots covering most of the legs, so the most "immodest" one would be fencers with high cut slits on a medium length skirt and exposed shoulders... But even they aren't anywhere near Fran in her leather outfit and stiletto heels. *No, I'm not implying Fran dresses like a stripper. That outfit is way too complex for the purposes of stripping. You have to pay extra and go to the back room smelling of burnt wax before you see anyone in her outfit.

This also means depending on when your character left everyone around your male veira either grew up thinking your a girl, or you were old enough for them to tell but they will always have that doubt in the back of their minds

@Tioko I like the idea that culturally it's seen as some sort of temporary gender. Most grow into male or female but some mature as that gender . (Mostly a social construct but wholly based on a cultural take on their early biological development. ) I'd imagine such individuals would have a distinct roll in society. Probably a religious leader. Not necessarily intersex but socially so.

All I know is, male Viera dominate in high fashion, especially when they wear a very iconic Ruby red shirt and leather pants.

I used to be a female Viera, and what I can't emphasize enough is how emotionless they are. I was fine with not having any hats but some emotes going as far as to do absolutely nothing made me switch to Miqo'te instead. That part is usually overlooked.

I would like ear animations very much, but even when I played as an Au Ra I’ve never been a fan of hats in general, so I’m good with there not being hats for Viera

I may constantly preach the good word of Highlander supremacy HOWEVER Viera are a close second. Ill take a bunny over a cat any day. They got the same kind of nice middle ground between "cute and cuddly" and "your son calls me mommy too" that is right up my alley. Also, all male viera are bottoms. This isent up for debate. This is simply how it works.

Canonically their gender are semi'impossible to discern until they reach puberty. The next question is what kind of equipment did they have at birth that lead to this confusion, cause at the moment their gender is revealed the males get sent to the forests to be trained as rangers.💀

@@dtk1981 Honestly, thats a question ive had for a while. Ive always kinda assumed that by "near impossible to tell" they meant that the boys and girls are just highly androgynes till puberty, so any outsider wouldnt be able to tell, but who knows.

@NM-ok9wb While there may be room to canonize the acceptance of those who are gender nonconforming, I feel that it's a reduction to group the whole of viera society into this box. I won't argue that there is no place for this idea or that it's impossible. What makes the viera stand out in comparison to the other races is that it is semi-impossible to tell until puberty, even amongst themselves. I won't argue or deny the existence of gender norms and our perception irl, but that's not what I was referring to. My initial question was whether or not this means beyond their bunny ears, do they function differently biologically when it comes to sex characteristics. I ask because they don't segregate at puberty because of age but directly because they stop being indistinguishable from one another due to puberty. What I love about this is that it also tells us that in the grand scheme of things, they are raised gender neutral until that point. My Wol has a trans brother who he followed to Uldah and was raised in the forest of their homeland. I personally headcanon veira society to allow free gender expression socially, but there are many who do not believe the green word allows it. His brother left due to his elder being one of them, this causing my Wol to start his journey. (They found each other, but the brother wants to go back due to home sickness)

I have a theory about the catboys. Well, two actually. 1) FF11. Back in that game the Miqo’te were known as Mithra. And the Mithra were a female only race. Granted I left before the final expansion but for the entire game there was only one male Mithra and he was an npc in the Wings of the Goddess expansion. Ever since coming to FF14 I’ve wondered if many ex-FF11 players are just happy to have the male Miqo’te option after so many years of being denied. 2) G’raha Tia. Need I say more?

Absolutely adore my Viera. I based my current WoL off of a character I wrote about in a book, and lore-wise Viera fits her. But Femhroth will probably fit her even better appearance-wise. If they come out looking amazing, I'm gonna have to make a big choice.

I all seriousness, I'm surprised more people aren't pissed than the modding community solved the damn hat issue (and probably many more issues) when Yoshi-P and team won't.
